WB Eyes Ryan Gosling for Green Lantern?

Latino Review is reporting the rumor that Ryan Gosling is Warner Bros. Pictures' first choice for Green Lantern. Gosling, most known for The Notebook, has also starred in recent pics like Lars and the Real Girl and Half Nelson. He received both an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for the latter.

Greg Berlanti is attached to direct the studio's big screen adaptation, written by Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green and Berlanti.

The "Green Lantern" was created in 1940 by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Hal Jordan introduced in 1959, a second-generation test pilot, is an ordinary man who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur's spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who was "utterly honest and born without fear."

No release date has been scheduled for the film.

Rex...if you haven't watched Lars and the Real Girl you should check it out. I like this guy a lot.

he's a great actor, I think he's been nominated for an academy award. I just wonder if he's big enough to pull off a superhero role. Hal Jordan was a test pilot, so the character should be pretty tough. I will check out Lars, seems like a really weird premise.

It is chock full of "pastoral care" themes.

As a DC fan,comics in general.First will smith who is black is going to be Captain America.Now Ryan Gosling who is white.Is going to be the Green lantern who is black the last time I checked out a green lantern comic.
Its hard to keep up with all the creative licenseing:banghead2:

Read the part where it says this is going to be Hal Jordan. Hal Jordan was white, John Stewart is the black one, and has been a cartoon recently, perhaps that is where you go the idea from. Green Lanterns are a group of super heroes, there isn't just one.

But if you have to pick one, it would be Hal Jordan
