First, so pleased we won that game! Great team effort and overcame our mistakes which has been a challenge this year (yup, Captain Obvious statement).

The good:
1. O-Line played their best game all year (particularly in the first half) and we were able to run the ball and protect JG for a few seconds.
2. Chandler had a monster game and showed he is the best back on the roster
3. Defense had a great game stuffing the run and getting pressure on Wilson with front 4 (preview of how this defense is supposed to run)
3a. STAYED HOME and did not let Wilson (who is fast) hurt us with his legs
4. JG played a great game and made some plays with excellent pocket presence; those would have been sacks last week

The bad:
1. We tried to keep UK in the game with penalties and turnovers (looking at you London and Richmond)
2. Offense got stagnant in 2nd half when UK got West back; kid had an immediate impact (we also went conservative to run clock)
3. After Chandler our RBs talent drops off precipitously; bad reads/cuts, fumbles, fall back not forward....
4. Tackling was better but we still missed a few that resulted in 3rd down conversions.... Don't have the speed to make up for those against better skill players

Overall we played our most complete game of the year and got a much needed win. UK was banged up and more one dimensional than I thought but we took advantage and made plays. Honestly, they should be ranked in the top 20-25 but I will take the #11 ranking for the stats column! Going forward we will need the same defensive effort up front to contain Mizzou as UK really didn't have the ability to pass the ball effectively. UK is probably the worst SEC offense we will see this year and has been their achilles heel all season. Offensively I am hopeful this win is a confidence builder and they continue to get some push up front and open running lanes for 8.

Happy to be happy on Sunday!!!! GBO!

You beat me to it. Jordan ran through or bounced off a number of tackles and ran very hard.

I like the passion that he runs with, he has heart. The problem he has shown all year, which he has been called out on TV and even by CJP in pressers and the coaches show...is that he often doesnt go where the play is designed to go. All too often tries to bounce it outside if he doesnt see a monster hole where he is supposed to go. He got a safety earlier this season doing that, and honestly that 1 was CJPs fault, bc coach had called him out publicly for it the game before...to send him in as RB when we are backed up to the 1yd line knowing his weakness was dumb. I am a big CJP fan, though. London should have gotten that carry, he is pur slowest back but also the biggest and he hits the holes well running up the middle like he should.

Anyway, thats coachable. When Jordan goes where he is supposed to, he is a very effective back. I hope Banks stays at LB, and next year we have Jordan,Chandler, and 5 star Crouch out of Charlotte, NC who was on campus again for the game yesterday. If we win at least 1 more and go bowling, i believe we land Crouch to go with our dozen total of offensive and defensive linemen. The future looks bright with CJP at the helm. GO VOLS

Fair points on Jordan. It looked like chandler was head and shoulders better than other RBs to me. Should have made that argument vs putting other RBs down.

It's unclear which side of the ball Crouch will play on wherever he ends up. If he comes to UT and wants to play LB, that's where he will play. Depending on if Lakia Henry remains committed, and if we were to get the flip from Pappoe, then if Crouch wants to play LB, then the staff would likely keep Banks at RB. If Crouch wants to play RB, then a better chance Banks moves back to LB. The variables of course, are who all else we get at LB and if we were to get the flip from Eric Gray at Rb. Beasley can certainly play RB if the staff prefers him there rather than defense. There are also some concerns with Crouch's durability with 2 injuries in consecutive seasons, but with that kind of talent, if staff thinks he is worth the risk he is a take, although he may be better off playing LB.

Didn’t know crouch at the game. If we land him, that’s a Jamal Lewis or Al Wilson type guy in my opinion. Things gotta be looking up with recruits.

Agree Chandler is our best back he can catch the ball and run with power and speed. Jordan is a great back also and Banks could be the bruiser if he ever learns ball control. All three of these backs are huge talents when they have a Ol to help.

The OL still looked mediocre. They managed to make holes, but it wasn't because they blew their opponents backwards

Clemson may be the favorite for him right now because he has indicated he wants to play for a winner, but he definitely has to see the steady improvement of the Vols. Plus he loves the Vols staff. It had looked like UT had lost all momentum with him lately, but him coming to Knoxville this weekend is an interesting turn of events.

He may be the receiver out of the backfield but not a lot of difference between him and Jordan as a running back.

To me, Jordan is similar to Jabari Davis with running style. Not gonna beat anyone in a foot race, but he will punish you when he gets to the 2nd level. Will need all the RB’s this week to pound the rock!

That throw from Guarantano and Jordan's catch was textbook. JG led him perfectly and Jordan made a superb catch as you would want your RBs to make. My personal play of the day.
The throw was low. Having to go down for it made him stumble and fall short. Hit in the numbers he scores. Not that it matters because he scored the next play.
