I'll pass, boycotting him as he is an embarrassment to our program

Arrest warrants were issued against Haynesworth in two Tennessee counties in May 2006 stemming from a traffic incident on Interstate 40. Both sets of charges were dropped in June 2006. The judge in the Putnam County case tossed the charges on the grounds that the alleged offense happened out of their jurisdiction. In Smith County, the district attorney dismissed the charges. In March 2009, Haynesworth was indicted on two misdemeanor traffic charges stemming from a December 2008 car accident in Tennessee.[40] In an accident on Interstate 65, Corey Edmonson was partially paralyzed after colliding with Haynesworth's car. Haynesworth was driving his Ferrari at speeds in excess of 100 mph when he struck Edmonson's vehicle, which struck a concrete barrier.[41]

On June 22, 2010, it was reported that Clayton Bank & Trust was suing the NFL lineman, alleging that Haynesworth had failed to make payments on a loan in the amount of more than $2.38 million. The suit was filed in the Knox County Chancery Court on June 18, 2010. According to papers, Haynesworth entered a commercial loan agreement for the original principal amount of $2,381,688.58 on June 27, 2009. On February 27, 2009, the two parties entered into an Extension Agreement with an effective date of February 27, 2010, according to the suit. The attorney for Clayton Bank & Trust, Hugh B. Ward, Jr., was seeking a little over $2.4 million.[42]

In 2010, Silvia Mena, a stripper from New York, claimed in a $10 million lawsuit that Haynesworth impregnated her and left her with no financial assistance.[41]

In 2011, Haynesworth allegedly threw a punch to the nose of Joel Velazques, 38, of Leesburg, Virginia during a traffic altercation.[43]

In January 2015, Haynesworth pled guilty for reckless boating charges.[citation needed]

On September 28, 2020, Haynesworth was arrested in Cleveland, Tennessee and charged with domestic assault after he was accused of yelling at and threatening his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.

Doesn't pay child support either

His demons were on display at practice early in his career. Fulmer sent him back inside because him and Will Ofenheusle (I believe) were going at it in practice, Al was not used to getting pushed around. A few moments later he came back out with a 2 x 4 looking to do damage. One of his mentors his FR year told me he would be great, but just does not have it up stairs. Al came around at the right time, because his antics today would not allow him to get drafted or provide for him or his families. Anyone who knew Al in college is not surprised by his road rage, him stomping on heads, domestic issues etc.

Based only on his career in Knoxville, Haynesworth may be the most overrated Vol football player of all time. He played 3 seasons with 2.5 sacks in his career while playing along side an Outland trophy winning DT. He basically played hard vs his home state South Carolina and once vs ND and very average vs everyone else.

Now, he did have a couple of years in NFL where he was outstanding. Those were years where he was playing for a new contract. One of the smartest decisions the Titans made was NOT giving him his huge contract. Ask Washington how that turned out.

He had 30 sacks & like 350 tackles in his 10 year NFL career & got paid like $60 million

Unbelievable
In fairness, Haynesworth was a 2 time First Team All Pro in 2007 and 2008. Then he got the big pay day from the Redskins, and he lost his passion for the game, and just didn't care about football anymore. Combined with the anger management issues that he has always had... and Albert's deal with Washington makes him the worst free agent signing in NFL history.

Appreciate the video clip OP. A person could write a lot of books or create a lot of these clips about people, yes people, that had an amazing life ahead of them but, made bad decisions, were not in the right place, people trying to take advantage of them instead of sincerely helping them, and they crashed and burn. If I were a football coach, heck any kinda coach, I would make sure and teach my players, children, scouts, students, good from evil. I did not note once in that video that Albert Haynesworth had given his life/soul to Jesus Christ. There are too many good role models out there to allow these kinda things happen to people.
