that was a good point he made with take the tope two teams out of each conference, USC and LSU, and then compare the two conferences... there really isnt a comparison

if u matched up the teams out of each conf. based on how they finished last season and the expectations for this season, it would be like this...

USC vs. LSU - LSU wins

Cal vs. Florida - Florida wins

Oregon St. vs. Tennessee - UT wins

UCLA vs. Auburn - Auburn wins

Oregon vs. Arkansas - Arky wins

Arizona St. vs. Georgia - UGA

Arizona vs. Bama - Bama wins

Washington St. vs. South Carolina - USC

Washington vs. Kentucky - UK wins

Stanford vs. Ole Miss, Miss. St. or
Vandy :dunno:

Last year, the PAC-10 faced off against 37 out-of-conference opponents. The record: 25-12. Doesn't seem too bad, but then again, I'm not sure losses to San Jose State, Navy and Hawaii should be overlooked.

The SEC, in contrast, played 59 games, posting a 48-11 record. In addition, out of the 10 losses, eight of the teams finished in the Top-25

End of arguement

and then he said what i have been thinking a long time, that USC may not lose a lot of games in the SEC but they will be very well weathered come January

i kno one thing's for sure, they're season wouldnt be too far from a toss up if they had tennessee's schedule and had to play Bama every third saturday in October right after playing Georgia and then having to play LSU or Carolina or Arkansas the following week, instead of playing the Oregon States and Notre Dames of the world

2003
Lsu- 1 5*, 17 4*
USC-2 5*, 10 4*

LSU lost Dwayne Bowe4*, LaRon Landry4*, Craig Davis4*,Alley Broussard4*, Jamarcus Russell4*, Justin Vincent5* just to name a few.
USC lost Reggie Bush5*, Steve Smith4*, and Lendale White4*.
The seniors of this class would have been redshirted.

2004
LSU-3 5*, 12 4*
USC-8 5*, 7 4*

LSU lost Charles Wroten and Xavier Carter, both 5*. Early Doucet is their only 5* remaining. Lsu also lost these 4*'s: Lavelle Hawkins, EJ Kuale, Mario Stevenson, and Matt Stoltz.

USC lost Luitui, Ryan Powdrell, Schweiger Jr. and Scott Ware. All 5*. Lost Rocky Hinds, Dwayne Jarrett, Derrick Jones. All 4*

This class would be seniors, or redshirt Jr's.
2005
LSU- 1 5*, 7 4*
USC-4 5*, 11 4*

LSU has Ryan Perilloux as 5 star but hasn't even played enough to see if he is good. He's 2nd on DC. LSU lost 4* Al Jones and Antonio Robinson.

USC has one 5 star that hasn't produced yet, but only because of the talent in front of him. Mark Sanchez. All 4*'s are still on team.

These would be Jr's or rSoph.

2006
LSU-2 5*, 12 4*
USC-5 5*, 14 4*

LSU has both of their 5*'s from this class still on the team. Lost Shomari Clemons, Deas, and Thomas. All 4*.

USC retains all of their 5*'s from this class. Kenny Ashley, Antwine Perez, and Josh Tatum are the only ones not on the team who were 4* in this class.

These would be Soph or rFrosh.

2007
LSU-2 5*, 19 4*
USC-6 5*, 10 4*

As you can see, USC definitely gets the nod in the talent category. Also in the coaching category. That game would be another USC blowout.

All info was from Rivals.

Yeah, because recruiting rankings are gospel. Look at all the championships we won with the #1 ranked class which included Michael Munoz & Co.

while I agree SC beats LSU and probably has better talent i've always wondered if the bottom half of SCs classes are a bit overrated. At least 3 times I can think of a recruit has been upgraded by either scout or rivals immediately after SC shows some interest. I think there is a bit of "if SC likes him, he must be good" going on. One time a recruit was upgraded from 2 to 4 stars the same day. The analysts explanation. He hadn't looked at the kid until SC showed some interest.

I was just showing that USC is more talented. They also have better coaches.
