Tennessee has seen it's fair share of players leave via the portal for one reason or another. Recently Gerald Mincey made headlines for his negative comments about Tennessee. I find it refreshing when a former player talks about what a wonderful experience he had at Tennessee. Tayven Jackson loved his time at Tennessee. Unfortunately for him, he was buried on the depth chart. He chose to go back home so he transferred to Indiana in hope of getting playing time. He recently commented on his time at Tennessee during an interview. Here is the article, I hope you enjoy. Go Vols!

Great read.
I hate that it didn't work.out here for Tayven.
Now he's at IU and hopefully seeing more playing time this season with the new coach and new offensive pholosophy...only thing that worries me is new coach brought along his guy in the portal.

Pretty cool story in that article...

"So here's a story," continued Jackson. "We're playing Kentucky. I broke my collarbone (against UT-Martin the previous week), so I'm on the field with just my jersey on. And Peyton Manning and Morgan Wallen are standing right behind me. I had no idea. And they tap on my shoulder. Peyton's like 'hey Tayven' and I look over and then I look over to the right and it's Morgan Wallen and he's like 'what's up kid, how you doing'. I'm like 'hey sir, how you doing'. And Peyton's just like 'hey, what happened to your shoulder', actually he knew what happened because he watches all the games. I'm like 'yeah, I broke my collarbone' and he's like 'that's alright, I've been hurt a couple of times, but man when you're in there you look good, you look athletic, you look almost like a Josh Dobbs that can go out there and rip it and use his feet'. And I'm like 'thank you sir, that means a lot' and he goes 'whatever you do just keep going, just always keep going no matter what, there's going to be a lot of ups-and-downs, but you're the guy that sets the tone, you gotta be a leader'. And I took those words (to heart)."

I didn't really follow him at Indiana. Anyone know what happened to him? Looks like he began the season as the starter. Did he get benched? Injured?

I just read it. It sounds like he misses being on the hill. He said "it's Tennessee!" several times like it was a no brainer for him over everybody else. Nice to have that kind of impact on the young guys again. IT'S TENNESSEE DAMMIT! GBO!
