It's not that shocking. He has a lot of time playing in legitimate NBA games. That he has garnered a MVP among players who have relatively little NBA time shouldn't be of surprise. It's a nice accomplishment, but shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that follows the NBA. Great reflection on UT and Barnes, no doubt. The disappointingly cold truth is that he isn't a NBA starter, for anyone. He is though, a model for maximizing potential. Top shelf role model, but an outlier. As a rep he has tons of credibility. He's qualified several times over to be VPWow. That is shocking for someone so young and who hasn’t had a ton of time in the league.
