I am not real familar with what a Graduate assistants job would would consist of. But it is my understanding there can be two on-field football coaches who are GA's. I think their pay can't exceed what tuition costs would be at the university they are at. I would also think they would have to attend school and would fall under alot of the same rules the players have to follow regarding accepting gifts, etc.....

After I learned Kiffin released all GA's I thought of the Guidry interview. I also thought of Hugh Freeze who is a coach at Lamboth who did coach TE's for Orgeron at Ol'Miss. Is there anyway these coaches would take a GA position?

Seems a little odd but who knows. Nothing else going on to talk about much.

Lambuth* HC Hugh Freeze will not take a GA job, he was offered a positions job at TN and didnt take it. GA's are usually young guys who are trying to get their careers going, like Jon Gruden who was a GA here. As far as I know they dont have to be enrolled in the school but they can't make over a certain amount. Also their are two interns as well who arent allowed on the field during gameday but basically do the same thing as GA's.

I knew a GA that was at Tennessee he is the HS coach at Elizabethton. His name is Shawn Witten, Jason's older brother who played for VT and then for a short stint with NY Jets.
