Offense - C-

Had a performance typical of this season: start on fire and then play lacklusterly in the 2nd half. Scoring on the first play from scrimmage was huge, as was scoring just before half to give us a 24-7 lead going into the locker room. In the second half, the receivers did not look focused, dropping several well-thrown balls that would have kept drives alive. The offense seemingly came alive in OT and got the win.

Defense - C+

A pretty typical performance here, also. The first half performance was nearly flawless, but then the defense almost collapsed in the second half. Despite that fact, I was impressed by how the defense stood tall after EA's second INT gave KY the ball on our side of the field. The D also held KY out of the endzone near the end of regulation, sending the game into OT. And in all honesty, the D received very little help from the offense in the second half.

Special Teams - B+

Overall, a very good performance. KR and PR coverage was very good all game. DL continues to struggle with long kicks, making 1 out of 2, both from beyond 45 yds. DR was pretty well contained all day. Finally, in what I think was the play of the game, the SP blocked a potentially game-winning KY FG in OT.

Coaching - B+

Cutcliffe's choice for first play of the game was great, catching KY off guard and scoring a quick TD. I don't think Fulmer "played not to lose" in the second half (a change of direction for him); the offense just didn't execute the plays very well in the second half. I also want to pat Fulmer on the back for his decision to go for it on 4th and 3 late in the 4th quarter in KY's side of the field. It was a gutsy call and would have been successful had it been executed properly.

Overall - C+

Although it is disappointing that we couldn't close this game out in regulation, we still beat a good KY team playing its best game of the year. I feel very confident going into the SECCG against a good - but very beatable - LSU team.

yeah I think a C is probably about what I would give them for that game. an A or close to an A for the first half and then a F for the 2nd. Averaging out for a C.

I'd agree with those scores. An A (first half) divided by a D- (second half) and then carried over will provide a "meh" grade.

First half.
I give the first half team defense and offense an A as well as coaching staff an A. They attacked, they were creative!

Second half.
Scaredy(sp) Cat Mode.
I'll give the defensive schemes(coaches) a D. We should learn our lesson by now, if you take the pressure off a pretty good qb, he's going to tear you apart.

I can't fault the defensive players though because they were only following orders.B

Offense was very, very conservative, playing not to lose after they established a lead(coaches) a D. Dropped passes by Taylor and Rogers, not qb's fault.Once again, players followed coaches orders so they're not to blame.B

It's not our coaches' fault that we dropped 2 CRITICAL first down passes in the second half, both of which could have led to game-ending scores.

Coaching: A- ... after all we did keepthem out of the end zone at the end of the regulation!

I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that Fulmer didn't use the run-run-pass-punt method in the second half.

it's not the coaches' fault when Vinson and Willingham give up 6 fades from the 10 yard line.

Not necessarily. The FG could of ended up being no good even if it hadn't been blocked. It's a moot point anways.
