Grade Chavis's Overall Defensive Plan Today

NO...what kept this in reach is that we have superior athletes playing against future doctors and lawyers........

In other words - our defense with better athletes kept us in the game because our offense with better athletes couldn't take advantage of the doctors and lawyers. Glad you agree with him.

Their offense earned 21 points. Not great - note that I gave them a B- could also be taken as a C+ for average. They came through when it mattered.

Why aren't we grading the offense?

I agree we made some stops. We did that because we have superior athletes...not because of any "scheme" or plan of attack. JMO..........

Remember...dont grade how we played...but rather if Chavis put our players in a position to be successful. I say no..........

The main issue I had was he continues to slump the safeties and corners way off the receivers. Which has been the case all year... even though Slade was quoted saying the corners don't play like new comers anymore and doesn't expect them to make any mistakes.

Is a win NOT successful? They were put into position to win because they DID win. What are you talking about?

Chavis' boys looked good the first 2 series, but on the Vandy scoring drives, they had some major misalignments. On the Jennings TD catch we had no one in the middle of the field at all and the TE was not covered by the LB on the other. We played much better in the 4th, but Vandy also seemed to be playing not to lose - aka Johnny Majors football. I give Chavis a C- the first 3 quarters and a B+ in the 4th. In the end we win.

I didn't see as much of a problem with the PLAN as I did the individual coverage mistakes. I highly doubt Chavis told his guys not to cover TE's and WR's. I seems the D went into the locker room, listened, got their heads on straight and came out to play.

Wow you're really drunk and it's obvious now. I don't believe that statement. I was being sarcastic... but apparently a drunk man can't realize that. I never said I believed vanderbilts roster was full of future doctors/lawyers with no good athletes. Go read further back.

Speaking of dumb posts... :lolabove:

I'll give you a pass tonight, but just quit while you still can. No more beers.
