Gotta win Saturday, but if we do and we’re a road playoff team I want…

I didn’t say anything. I just quoted you to do the math. Meaning you weren’t responding to me in this thread. I did not set those parameters of no conf champ. And he did not say that anyway. It’s 5 max in the playoffs for the first round. When the sec champ plays it is the second round by default. That’s why or is called a bye week.

The bigger picture is actually read who you are replying to.. I didn’t come up with any of this in this thread
OK, Sparky. I was responding to the poster who said there shouldn’t be matchups of teams from the same conference in the first two rounds by saying in such a scenario there couldn’t be more than 4 teams from any conference. Then you interjected yourself to say there could be 5, which was wrong. But thanks for weighing in.

Id be alright playing UGA again and if its in Athens so be it. They have to lose there sometime and this is the most beatable team they've had in the 30 game home win streak. To make it to elite we need to do that sooner or later get over that hump. Our team is familiar with the arena from the recent game. I know no one on here wants this but I look at it an opportunity to grow the program back to their rightful place, on top. GBO

My top 3 picks for an opponent in a playoff game.

1. Georgia
2. Georgia
3. Georgia

Between Indiana’s opening drive against Ohio State and their final drive in which Ohio State was playing soft with a 23 point lead, Indiana had eight possessions and 6 yards. Indiana is not better than Penn State.

Though both are overrated.

This.

I do think Penn State has a stronger home field advantage than Indiana especially if there is frigid temperature and/or snow.

However they should be penalized in the rankings for weak regular season schedules in the same way as Group of 5 teams.

I'm just hoping we avoid playing other SEC schools in the first round because I don't think conferences should be eliminating each other in the first round. Plus, Georgia may still be the team to beat in the playoffs.

This thread is a bit too early…………we have a game to play in Nashville at 12 noon. Take care of business and see where the chips fall. If you wanna complain about something, why the 3 week lay over to the playoff games start? Too much time off if you ask me. Start the next week after the conference championship week.

Our team must prove that they won’t wilt under pressure on the road. They’ve consistently folded in those types of situations, with only a few exceptions (LSU on the road in 2022). More often, it’s been like South Carolina in 2022, second half collapse at Bummer last year, the Missouri no show in 2023, in the Swamp every year.

They have it in them to do it. We just need to actually do it when it matters most. Winning at Penn State would be a good start.

But let’s just avoid doing the most Tennessee thing ever by figuring out a way to lose to Vandy. Just win.

lol. Please tell me you are joking. What makes you think we can beat them? Seriously.
We can beat them if we can get pressure on the qb. And I think we can, we may have to blitz often in order to do it. Ole miss sacked him 5 or 6 times. He makes lots of mistakes when he is pressured, and we had zero pressure on him.

Honest question. Do you really have confidence that we could beat them in the playoffs?

why are people assuming we'd play Penn State at night, anyway? There are 2 night games, a noon, and an afternoon

I like your post because I agree with you. I never said they could or would, what I said was any environment that’s in the playoffs would be on another level so where you play the environment would still be hostile.

Gotcha.

I know there is a limited allocation for visiting teams in the playoff, but I bet that Tennessee fans could get in the door in Bloomington and make a presence. Something tells me that those basketball fans will sell on the secondary market if the price is right. And Tennessee fans will pay it.

Our best friends live in Indianapolis. If Tennessee played in Bloomington or South Bend, we would make every effort to stay with them and drive over day of game.

Penn State. Hands down.
I’d prefer just about anyone besides Georgia. I can’t believe they can’t fudge the rankings a bit to avoid rematches in the first round. That said, all the road teams will be huge underdogs. I’m not sure but I heard the road teams only get a small allotment of tickets so it will be just like a home game for the hosting team. I would rather go play Penn State or Notre Dame if I got to pick.

Still hoping the Dominos fall in line to get us a home game.

Barring that though, I think a road game at Indiana would be preferable to Penn St. Honestly, if we can't punk Indiana-then we don't belong in the Playoffs
Gotta get by vandy first
