This is the meat of the schedule and it's time to take the training wheels off of Croom. We need that 3rd BIG target (4 counting TE Rivera) on the field (at the same time), in order for us to dish out more than they can handle.

We also need to use him on designed running plays. Should be able to swallow up their smaller DB's, when blocking. Getting sick of seeing us waste all this size and talent...just like we dicked around against Akron...never putting McCullers in.

I don't care what package they were in. Something's terribly wrong leaving your most dominant DL...by far...on the bench.

We want tall WR's...good. Then let's freakin' use what we already have, for Pete's sake.

I agree, but CDD is irretrievably confused by the concept. Gotta water the bamboo you know.

we definitely need to spell JH and CP from time to time. Maybe these new kids can step in and do a decent job.

Emphasis should be on Rivera - if anyone beat UGA last year it was M. Rivera, a bunch of huge catches. He's also so critical to keeping their LB's honest so the running game can breathe.

Marlin Lane had a beast of a game too. Matt Simms played pretty good. Other than that, everything was, meh. Marlin Lane can help us a lot in this game, too, though is the point.

I agree in principle, I think we need to get these receivers ready for the games, but honestly how much did Rogers and Hunter play in 2010. Hunter had 11 catches and Rogers had only a handful. Sometimes it takes time to develop. Pig will help a lot as Arnett did last year. The reason McCullers wasn't in the game was because they were a motion offense and they wanted quicker bodies to counter, it had nothing to do with being ignorant of McCullers' size...

I understand the concerns with playing Freshman...but damn. You got a freakin man-child sitting on the bench, who can literally pick peanuts off the top of the opposing DB's heads. Can't tell me you don't have at least a good handful of packages you can utilize him in.

Can't outgun your opponent if you don't even use what you have. We need to hit them with everything we got...just like the Titans did this past weekend, against an explosive Detroit team.

I was so sure they'd lose, I didn't even watch the game. Watched the highlights, and low and behold...they pulled it out...doing just that. Throwing everything they had, including the kitchen sink, at the Lions.

Size and talent at WR is the one Ace Card we have against UGA, Bama and the USCjr. If we don't use Croom and McCullers, then hand me a freakin pitchfork and torch. It's time to burn some mattresses (with Dooley's name on it), dammit. :)

I'm excited to see what croom can do. It'll be understandable if he makes a few mistakes since he's young but I'm excited for his future here!

A freshman receiver isn't going to be the deciding factor in this game. McCullers will play a ton this week because Georgia likes to run the ball between the tackles.

don't be surprised if he is headed for a redshirt. Hammy continues to be an issue. If he doesn't get in this week, I suspect that is what is happening with him.

his knowledge is really limited due to missed practice time. so even if he can go, very limited plays he would be available for.

McCullers would have been gased against akron.
That's what you have rotations for. Big Mac could have collapsed Akron's line up the middle against the run or pass. They've likely never seen anyone that big before. I'm sure Akron's center was greatly relieved not to have that mammoth breathing down his neck.

I wouldn't be surprised if we kept McCullers off the field so Georgia would have limited tape on him. Also would preserve his endurance for the meat of the schedule.

Clemson seems to have no problem with freshman WR's having an impact.

I wondered about that too, but you got to give him some reps in order to keep his conditioning & game experience progressing.

Croom's hammy has been the problem. Doubt he is much of a factor this season.

If you think that playing Freshman will get us a win in the next 4 games you are mistaken. We need the upperclassman to step up. The reason these freshman are not a big part of the game plan is because they are not quite ready for SEC play. These kids are learning and getting stronger. Not to say they will not be great players for us in the future.

Giving the staff a little too much credit aren't we?

I think Pig will be the man with a bit of tine. There's a reason he has been getting time as the 4th man in after ZR.

I believe it was DaRick with 11 and Hunter had 16. Croom may not be totally healthy and Dooley may just like Rogers and Howard better in the slot . Who knows . I do know if Croom is healthy and Dooley thought he gave us a better chance to win he would be playing
