I know lots of folks are concerned and upset on the health of Lattimore, but I think we should also keep Eric Gordon in our thoughts too. This guy is getting a ton heat on twitter. Mostly by 40 year old fat guys who haven't thrown a football since they're kid told them they were embarassed to play catch with them. Anyways, didn't think there was anything dirty about that hit hope this doesn't effect him negatively.

gotta take him down, it was a good clean tackle. i wouldn't want to hit latimore high, and i'm sure gordon didn't want to either.

Have to go low on Lattimore. He's too big of a back to tackle otherwise. It was just one of those extremely unfortunate plays.

People get tackled by their legs all the time. What else is someone smaller supposed to do? Absolutely nothing dirty or intentional about the hit.

Exactly. A great back like Latt will make a fool of you if you try to go high on him, especially a db Gordon's size. Gotta take him low.

What's Lattimore's main upside ultimately caused this to happen... he's so hard to bring down... in this case he didn't go down right away... well when someone is draped over you and you take a direct and legal ( perfect actually) blow to the lower body... $#/t happens.

Any other play against any other player it would have been a mop up hit. But Lattimore's ability kept him upright and in position to take that hit.

Feel for him and hope he has a speedy recovery. This was just a freak accident.

On a side note... the same thing almost happened to Jacob Carter... but his leg barely got out of the grass right before the USCe player made contact... both legal tackles.

...as a Gamecock who posts here I have NOT heard one single fan blame Gordon for the injury. I vivit all the sites and am a member at Cockytalk and GoGamecocks. Most sing your teams praise for their reaction to Lattimore's injury. This is more than football.

Terrible to see Lattimore get seriously injured, but look at it from whatever angle you want that's a clean hit. Again, wish Lattimore a fast and healthy recovery but I hope Gordon keeps coming to lay the wood with the same mind frame.

EG has been solid the last couple of seasons in the nickle. He's undersized but covers well, ain't afraid to come up in run support and super reliable tackling in space. Big Heart on that kid and he doesn't get much credit.

Anyone thinks he's dirty is a moron, I wish we had a more players like him!

There's a few in every bunch. There's some on cockytalk that say the hit was dirty & we had one guy here that said some unclassy things but was taken care of. Hate to see bad things happen to great people.

Wasnt a vicious hit IMO - they should lay off Gordon, Furthermore the NCAA needs to ban those short pants players have been wearing the last couple seasons - not that it would have prevented what happened, but looking at Hunters thin race horse type legs in those pants I can almost feel it happening to him and others, after watching that game.

The one is talking about Gordon not wrapping up Lattimore.

5'9 190lb CB vs. 6'0 220lb RB

Yeah... don't take out his legs, go high and get run over.

Typical mouth breathers that don't have the first damn clue about football. That kind of hit happens in every game. Just horrible luck on Lattimore's part. Hopefully, he gets his degree and/or the USC AD can give him a job.

Definitely not a cheap shot. Just sad. I hate to say it, but if I'm Hunter, CP, Bray, anybody who still can go pro, I'm going. You just never know. I'm holding out hope Lattimore will be another Mcgahee story.
