Just wanted to stop by and say good luck in the game tonight as I have always took UT as my favorite team after ALABAMA, but as I read from both forums, Bama and this one, I find that times have changed.
In earlier days we had a good rivalry, but respected each other, being a older man I must have missed something.
both sides talk so much trash about each other that they seem to forget what its all about, two of the best damn football teams in the SEC.
I hope to move to Oak Ridge some day, but I wonder about what would happen would if I wore my BAMA gameday shirt. What have I missed over the years for two fine schools to get to this point?
any way GOOD LUCK! and may the best damn sec team win.

p.s this will be posted on a BAMA forum too.

Living in South Alabama, I don't wear my orange at least on gameday with Alabama at Knoxville and no fellow Vols around. While there are some good Bama fans, there are way too many backwoods Bama fans that would actually shoot or physically assault you. Remember a few years back when a Bammer shot his son during a Bama game when he asked for a car?

Thanks and may we have a good game with no injuries. I grew up in Oak Ridge. The schools are excellent and the people, friendly and intelligent. Be sure to visit the Museum of Science And Energy. It's pretty interesting. Not much to do there, but you are about 30 min from Knoxville if you like to step out.

I LIVED in MoBILE AL for 4 years and wore my TN gear at least 4 days a week......I got a little harrassed but it was all in good fun.................

That's what I mean as I stated, I'm from the day when we respected each other.

when it comes to game day sure i'm pulling for BAMA but I still respect UT as a SEC team, just like bama retards (yes we have them too and so do you) I DO NOT THINK IT SHOULD COME TO VIOLENCE!
Respect the rivalry, doin't hate the fans.

It was the first game I ever saw. The old black and white TV became a lot more than just a box that day in 64.I was five years old.

I think it goes beyond respect or trash talking.
WE.... love two hate each other!!!!!

Thanks for the post! I don't share your sentiments about Alabama but I always loved the Bear (still do) and I kinda hated his last game against us being a loss. I believe that this rivalry is going to come back into the forefront of the the national stage as I believe that Saban is going to get ya'll back to the top of the mountain and we are going to be close at your heels. GOOD LUCK today! I wish that I believed that we are going to beat ya'll, but I don't. Too young in the wrong areas and too weak in the others. My daughter doesn't understand why I want to beat 'Bama year in and year out, but last year and I suspect this year will give her some insight. GOOD LUCK AGAIN!!

I always pull for SEC teams in other games, except for Alabama. Sorry man, I have nothing against you personally. I just hate Alabama. Rivals are not supposed to be nice.

I respect you as a fan I just don't respect your team.There will always be hate associated with this rivalry but anywho I hope its a good game and I hope we win..we have nothing to lose..on the other hand you guys have everything to lose...so in other words the pressure is on the tide.
