Obviously the US perspective on human rights is far below what the rest of the world possesses. Thus the correlation with people scrambling to get out of this country. Or do I have that backwards.

How about this?

The Bush administration had intervened in support of the Mexican government, urging Texas prosecutors to reopen the death row cases.

Hmmm. The destroyer of all civil rights and international relations sides with the international community and against the death penalty? Can't be true...:)

And he's also speaking out against China's human rights record.

Bravo for him, but can you say "lame duck"? Or would it be "swan song"?

take a second and research what this monster did. he got exactly what he deserved. absolutely sickening that anyone would protest his execution.

I cannot believe so many of you would support the willful killing of another human being. I am so sickened by the thought of my many hours spent on this site trading words with, what I thought to be, an enlightened crowd.

Sarcasm folks. Chimichanga anyone?

DISD plan to ease grading standards angers teachers | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas | Latest News

Dallas public school students who flunk tests, blow off homework and miss assignment deadlines can make up the work without penalty, under new rules that have angered many teachers.

For example, the new rules require teachers to accept late work and prevent them from penalizing students for missed deadlines. Homework grades that would drag down a student's overall average will be thrown out.

Did this article forget to mention that the students won't face academic recourse, but that the teachers can now bust a cap in their asses for sorriness?

True. I can't fail you but I can remove you from the gene pool

I actually wasn't being ironic about the gun thing. I always contended that as someone with a concealed carry permit in the state of TN, I should have been able to pack while I was teaching.

oh I know. I was just pointing out that for every 1 step forward this country takes it seems to do a backflip in the other direction. Gun rights are great until the kid gets stumped as to why 8 bullets don't fit in his revolver.
