My wife just ordered tickets for the Charlotte race on Saturday, 14 Oct! That's AWESOME! What's really neat, is that she found a hotel under 10 miles from the track for under $70 (military/gov't rate!) Can't beat that. We're going to be along the front stretch -hope to get some neat pictures like we did at the Poconos. We've never been to the Charlotte race and always talked about along with Richmond and Talledega. Hey, it'll be an early birthday since my birthday is Monday-16 Oct. I'm off that Friday from work anyway. We'll be staying Friday and Saturday night. Don't want to drive back to northern VA after the race. Did that for the Poconos and it was tough-especially since the next day was a workday.

I've never been to a race there, but I've been to the Charlotte track and went inside it and whatnot. Doesn't look like there would be a bad seat in that place, we went up into the stands and were about 20 rows up and could easily see the whole track.

Be sure and keep your tickets on you at all times. God forbid if you have to go to the restroom or consession stand and not have it on you. The people working there that check and make sure that you are going where you are supposed to be going will treat you like a terrorist. :bad:

It is a great track to watch a race at. I hope that you have a great time!

You will love this track. They have managed to update the facility without changing everything. It is a blend of old and new which fits together quite nicely. It is a showplace with Condos and Suites, but the frontstretch stands still have that old racing feel.
Instead of driving to the track and parking, we hired a cabbie to drop us off and pick us up for $50 - well worth it - no wait and we could drink and eat in the van.
I was pleasantly surprised that my hotel cost was not inflated for that weekend. Holiday Inn was $75 - same rate when I go there for business.
Only down side was the souvenier trailers are opposite the track in a dusty, rocky field - too crowded.
Have a great time............

My father took me to LMS about four years ago for the Coke 600 weekend. Our tickets for the Busch race were in turn four about 45 rows up under the overhang, we could see everything and were in the shade. Our Cup tickets were on the first row on the front stretch. You could barely see the top of the cars when they were on the backstretch, but we had a great view from turn four to turn one and pit road. It was terribly hot, but I have a feeling you won't be dealing with heat in October.

Unless they have put in bleacher's since then, the first few rows of the front stretch are just concrete seats, which stinks if you have someone behind you that can't hold onto their beer. The guy behind us dropped at three beers during the race and these beers had nowhere to go except where we were sitting, and with our seats being concrete you couldn't wipe them up. So we had to sit in the beer or stand until the beer dried, which didn't make people around us happy.

After seeing Talladega Nights and telling old stories about going to a race, I want to go to another race before the season is over. Have fun in Charlotte.
