Going to Air Force game - Suggestions...

On how early to arrive and what to do? I've only been to 3 UT games in the past but they've all been with my buddies. Tomorrow, I'm taking my new fiancee, who bleeds orange, for her first ever game. I just want to make sure she gets that "experience" of seeing all there is to see and the atmosphere of UT. I bought my face paint yesterday and I think I'm going to attempt a "Crow" white face with orange trim paint job for myself. :rock:

If you do anything, take her to the VolWalk, it is a sight to behold.

Allow a little time to browse the UT BookStore catty-cornered across from the stadium. Buy some VOLS stuff.

Also, you can sit on The Hill (side) and watch/listen to the VOLS Radio Network Broadcast Team * do their live pre-game. :thumbsup:

Well, I think me and my people are leaving around 9 in the morning, and when we get there we'll probably just hang out. I do like to watch the band practice and the Vol Walk is definatly something I will go to. :)

Heck why not just camp out tonight! J/K... well maybe not. Anyway like mentioned above the Vol Walk is a must as is seeing the players run through the "T". I'm a big tailgate guy, get there as early as you want, the earlier the better. Just soak up all the orange activity you can!!

Take her to the bldg. that houses the trophies and indoor practice facility. Will it be open? The bookstore is always too crowded.

Tennessee vs. Air Force
The `56 football team will be signing from 5-6 p.m. (after they participate in the Vol Walk) and the Lady Vol Basketball team will be signing from 5-6 p.m. as well in the Village WIVK Gameday lineup will be broadcast WIVK Stage featuring live music4 p.m. Tennessee Lettermen's Room opens at Thompson-Boling Arena5 p.m. Tennessee Park -- Hospitality tents at Tom Black Track4:45 p.m. VOL WALK -- The Tennessee football team will begin its game-day trek to Neyland Stadium beginning at 4:45 p.m. The team, led by head coach Phillip Fulmer and team captains, will leave from the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center, walk up Lake Loudoun Boulevard to Volunteer Boulevard and then down Peyton Manning Pass to the stadium.5 p.m.GATES OPEN -- All Neyland Stadium gates5:20 p.m. PRIDE OF THE SOUTHLAND PROCESSION -- The University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Band will make its way to Neyland Stadium beginning at 5:20 p.m. The band will marches down Volunteer Boulevard to Andy Holt Avenue to Stadium Drive, stopping along the way to "Salute the Hill," before marching into the stadium through Gate 21.5:30 p.m. KICKOFF CALL-IN SHOW -- The Tennessee football kickoff call-in show hosted by Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Jeff Francis will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Vol Radio Network. You remember James J. Dillon - the manager of the fabled 4 Horseman? Well, he was a wrestler before he was a manager - and that is him. Thanks for the posts in this link - we'll be down about 1:30 today :rock:

buy her a orange Vols hoodie sweatshirt with sewn on letters/numbers, she'll be hooked forever. It worked when I bought my gal the same except it was a Virginia Tech hoodie...bout 75 bucks.

Yeah, I remember him. I knew he looked familiar but I couldn't think of who it was. He looks so young in your avatar. I saw him in Kingsport not too long ago. He was managing David Flair and Tully Blanchard in a match at one of their big shows. Thanks for answering me. :wink2:

What are the general "open container" rules in Knoxville and where is considered the "center" of tailgating? In Oxford you have the Grove, in Tuscaloosa you have the Quad, in Baton Rouge you have the Indian Mounds - where is the best place to check out VolNation on gameday?

Tennessee is one of the few schools, I hear, that doesn't really have a specific tailgating area. I know by The Rock is a good spot. Also, Neyland Garage.
