Going thru Gainesville on Sat

Going to Tampa and since we have never been thru Gainesville before thought we might drive around the campus and stop for lunch.

Anyone have any suggestions on some good places to eat?

I don't know about a place to eat, but there is a store on campus you must check out...

I'll be on 75 with you Saturday, heading to same destination (vacationing with old friends from Residency at Tampa General/All Children's).

Here's my advice on Gainesville: DRIVE ON THROUGH. There's no football game and there are no co-eds, yet. Unless you are in to sweltering hot dust bowls overcrowded with central Florida rednecks, there is a grand total of ONE reason to exit the interstate: an empty gas tank.

Have fun in Tampa. You going to hit the beach at all?

Yeah. The farthest you should venture off the interstate is the gas station right off the exit. Hold your nose as well.

No beaches, Although I will probably take my daughter to Busch Gardens and the Water park.

i drove through gainesville during christmas break and it was absolutely dead. i was even decked out in orange to piss people off so that kinda ruined my fun
