kptvol, hat and some others....this ones for you!!

Tennessee's special teams will find a way to win this game for us. I believe we have made the correct changes......

I know we will see a better tackling team....this will keep us in the game that will come down to special teams!!

If Fulmer hasn't improved these 2 areas in the past 2 weeks then I will humbly agree he no longer belongs on the college level!! This doesn't mean a loss, it means changing special teams and tackling, fundamentals all together!! Thought I'd never say that.......

But we gonna win by 10

Lord help us all if this game is to be won by the special teams play. I say we'll win it despite our special teams.

I just want to say only giving up two touchdowns instead of 3 on special teams tomorrow WILL NOT count as winning the game for us :)

It's quite comical that so many of you think that one additional week of preparation is going to magically solve our special teams and defensive problems. Many of UT's players have been in this program for 2, 3, 4 or even 5 years now, and Fulmer's coaching staff hasn't been able to coach them well enough over that entire period of time to correct our problems. One additional week will make no difference. Also, historically our tackling is usually far worse (which is saying something because our tackling is always atrocious) coming off of bye weeks.

We shall see how our guys come out. they have had plenty of time to rest up and CPF has had enough time to figure out all of GA's weakness. we shall see.
God i hope things go well for our boys.

How about our kick-off team do a good job and keep GA from starting their drives at or near mid field. These short fields along with poor tackling has been killing our defense.

Sure it is trite and has been repeatedly mentioned, but field position is going to be very important today. If GA starts every posession at their 40 yard line, they will keep us in a hole. I look for this to be a game of attrition unless Stafford has his break out game (he is due).

this game is going to come down to our ability (or inability) to stop the run. If we have another game like the PSU game we're in for a long, long day. I dont think Staffod has matured to the point he can beat us by himself.

I agree, Rex. I also worry that he won't have to ; he could get lots of help from Thomas Brown and Mareno. If our run defense hasn't improved.......

I saw earlier in the week that Colquitt will be in on kick-offs. He was putting them into the end zone in pre-season.

He could have been the difference in the Cal game.

:eek:lol::eek:lol: Even if our st has improved to the best we've had in 5 or more years, it still won't be as good as Richt's this year.

Because of the state of our defense and special teams, this is going to be another long day for Vol fans. Even two weeks off is not going to make a difference, after what I have seen in the first 4 games.:angry:

I'd be happy just to see Hefney snap back into form, much less the whole defense. As for special teams, they have been bad for years, so I don't see any chance that one bye week makes the difference. I am sick of being beat by jawja at home, but it probably won't change a thing. I will stick with my guns and predict as I did two weeks ago that special teams will break the game open for UGA. Maybe we'll beat the Bulldogs next week.

We had over a month to come up with that masterful game plan against Penn St in the bowl game. How'd that work out for us?
