Go on record: How many snaps for Guarantano

I think your cable goes out and then your car breaks down on the way to see the end of the game at the bar, and since you have no phone service - you don't know anything "as the frustration mounts"

:) well played. I laughed and gave a like.

Here is what I hope and think happens. JG gets either the first series or second series, with him we are running the same offense we had been running with Dobbs, read option and run game all the way down the field for points. QD gets another series or two with minimal to no results, then JG is reinserted to run our traditional offense and we crank out some points due to the fact that gt can't stop our rushing attack with JG and JK as running threats. CBJ realizes we aren't ready to fully feature the throw game yet, so we continue to feature read option and run game until these rec's and oline and JG get better at the throw game, and the rest is history. JG is your qb from gt until he gets hurt/graduates.

I'm gonna say 0 unless it's in a blow out situation. We will get a limited number of snaps just based off the way GT plays of Dormady can move the ball he will stay in.

I think the vols and Dormady start off hot running out to an early lead but he gets injured in the second quarter and JG finishes the game. Jackets storm from behind to take the win comfortably as injuries mount.

Why would you put that out into the universe?

Here is what I hope and think happens.

Q.D. will be the starter and he is able to get the ball to our talented receivers. He ends up with 300 plus passing yards. Georgia Tech will eat the clock up on every since possession. We will need to score some type of points on every possession in order to keep up.
We won't get many possessions because Tech will play "Keep away" with the ball. So, throwing the ball is our best bet to score quickly and often.
JG may be the fan favorite, as most back up q.b.'s usually are, but we need someone who can throw the ball to our receivers.

I would bet that JG plays a lot against Florida. I think Florida will play us tight and not give us much time to throw the ball, so we put in J.G. and he adds the element of the option to the game and we fare better against Florida.

I hope we shut them out and score 70+.

I think we score between 28-35 and hold them to 10-24. 35-10 could happen just as 28-24 could happen.

I like our chances.

They are both backup QBs. Neither has ever started or proven anything.

Let me explain to you from my perspective of how you lose to a team like GT. If we are out there screwing around with the pass game, rec's not getting open, line not blocking well, qb not making right reads and accurate throws. Next thing you know we aren't moving the chains, taking sacks and throwing picks, putting our defense in bad situations and GT hands you a loss.

We have the talent advantage over GT. You are dang near guaranteed a win with the read option based offense executed effectively against a team with less talent. We can and should run up and down the field on the team. If we go out there featuring more of a pass than usual, if it's not executed properly, you can lose to a less talented team like GT.

This is a huge game for cbj. A loss here and the wheels could come off. We could look back a year from now and say, the gt game was the beginning of the end.

Go out there, take your more talented oline, your talented rb and most effective read option qb, and run all over GT for the victory. Don't mess around with an ineffective throw game against tech. It could result in a loss.

Don't know how many snaps (obviously), but I think both QBs will play in the first half. And I think that will continue as long as both are effective.

If it's close, I'd say no more than a couple series' worth. If we have a big lead in the late 3rd or 4th, then he'll probably play the remainder of the game.

I like non QB players that can pass the ball. JJ was a QB in HS. Kelly threw a pass last year as well. It would be awesome to see them both on the field.

I think it will be more like Ainge/Shaffer. 1 or 2 Series at a time. 121 needs to really communicate about how each one is doing with the guy they are up against. Whoever is our LT needs to tell the QB to watch out if he can't block their DE. After going against Kongbo in practice I doubt GT has anything close. But who knows?

I like our chances.

To your topic of the LT, that is where the RB's ability to pass block is going to be key in the passing game this season. Butch's offense since being here has a heavy dose of chip blocks by the RB that turns into a dump off route. This is nothing but speculation on my part especially considering we have nothing to use as a reference since we haven't seen Scott run the offense yet.

How many snaps do you think he'll get on Monday?

40% Minimum it will be QB competition in the game. Even if Dormady looks good they are going to give Guarantano his shot at the job as well. This competition isn't over like many believe. They are both competing until Florida game IMHO.

May the best man win, and Go Vols!!!

I can see this scenario playing out. QD comes in the first half and lights up Tech for 3 touchdowns. Butch plays Guarantano enough to loose the mighty Mo, Tech beats us by 3 points. I hope that doesn't happen. I believe this team can go as far as they want under good coaching, but that's the big question.

Plays G enough to lose the game.
