Go Go Go Buy Cal Tickets

Ok - we just got some tickets in the blue zone general admission...

I just looked at the seating area at

http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/cal/graphics/cal-footbl-seatingchart.gif

Was wondering what the yellow strips on the end of the blue zone were? Will the general admission be able to sit there? Because im sure all the UT fans that are coming up and not using the visitor tickets will try to sit as close as possible to the visitor section.

Or is this yellow section just normal seating?

They really don't check tickets aggressively in the general admission section. Get there 30 minutes (45 minutes if you are really concerned) early and you wont have a problem. The majority of people in the GA section will be Cal fans, most who sit in the same seats every game (because they are cheap) and trust me wont want to sit in the vols section. Even when Nebraska came (and we stunk so it was probably 40% nebraska fans), I don't remember this being an issue.

Hmm - ok... so the GA section does stretch all the way to the visitor section? I guess was my real question but I kind of rambled on.

Just got a block of 6 in Section C. $66 each, much much cheaper than StubHub for similar seats.

Let's kickoff the season with another W over Cal!! Go Vols!! :dance2:

Lol looks like Cal's setup at their stadium tries to drown out the visitor section - with the young alumni and student section next to them and the band below if that seating chart is right...

I asked this on the scout board and this is what I got back:

"OO is tarped for smaller games, but you can be assured the tarps will be off for Tennessee. I am not sure how they have done that in the past...I am PRETTY sure they are assigned seating, but I could be wrong. The reason I say pretty sure is because when I was getting extra tickets to I think the Oregon game last yr, I almost bought seats in OO. Then decided against it.

Anyways...your assumptions on GA are correct. First come, first serve. Early bird...worm...all that jazz."

So my plan is to arrive early, TRY to sit in OO with my GA tickets (OO is DIRECTLY next to the visitors' sections of P and PP). If I cannot sit there, I will get as close as I can to the band (front rows) in the Blue Zone.

When we're a week out, I'll try to organize a Blue Zone meeting place for all of us GAers.

Side note: I think droski once said OO is GA as well, but unsure.

There might be tickets with seat numbers on them in OO (I don't think so though), but no one follows what's on their tickets. You will find this to be true in the t and tt (and q and qq) sections as well. Can be kind of frustrating for visiting fans who thought they paid up for 30 yard line tickets.

So basically, we arrive early and sit in OO, directly next to the 7,500 UT seats and the band, and we'll be fine?

Now that I think about it they might start putting blue zone season ticket holders in OO (or maybe even tickets from tenn since you guys have a larger than normal allotment), which they haven't done in the past. Maybe that is what that poster was refering too. I do find that every once in a while you get someone demanding you to move from their seats (usually people that bough the tickets from stubhub or something), but the old timers just sit wherever they want. I imagine if someone gets a security guard or something it could be a problem. You might want to just sit on the left side of O to be safe. But my guess is OO will not have many cal fans.

Forgive me for hedging my bets, I just don't want to tell you guys to do something and then find out Cal security decided to make this game the one where they enforce all tickets. edit: long explanation short, I'd be very surprised if you had a problem sitting in OO. Generally people don't want their tickets put there because they are next to the visiting section. Though I know a lot of SC people who bought Cal season tickets this year and probably asked to be put there. so if they sold their tickets you might have a lot of stubhub type people.
