So if you go to rivals and look at team rankings were
30ish, but if you click on AVERAGE points per recruit the rankings switch up and were 21st in the nation.
It's not so bad when you look at it like that. Keep doing what were doing and it will be a good class.
i dont really care about stars. i look at who else is recruiting the same player.
if bama, usc, texas, etc(enter big name school here) are going after a player we get. i put more stock in that that player.
if we outrecruit memphis, troy and south florida for a guy, not so much.

There are plenty of kids that get overlooked because there not able to go to these big time camps or any type of showcase for that matter, so they dont end up with the offer list you wish of and end up only 3*. These could be the type of kids CBJ sees. Potential to be great with coaching and an already known name is a short distance apart.
I have also heard that recruiting services such as Scout and rivals are very biased toward certain schools. For example if they know the head coach of a certain school they're likely to give a player from that school a better rating than if they don't know or don't like the head coach at another certain school. Also the Schools reputation for football also plays into it. In other words a kid from Maryville would probably be rated higher than a kid from Heritage

Montori Hughes did not have many good offers until Chavis found him. Had tons of potential but was lazy. I saw on the 2013 mock NFL draft where he will enter the draft after playing at U.T. Martin.
ALso, Patrick Willis did not get many good offers but he was a leader on the Ole Miss team even as a freshman.
So, occasionally, you can find the diamond in the rough that only Western Kentucky and New Mexico State have offered..
