Glad we got VA tech and the chick fil-a. If for some crazy reason we ended up in the music city bowl. Volantion will organize and conduct a riot big and rowdy enough to make the LA riots look like a PTA meeting

I live in nashville. LP is twenty minutes away. That is the one stadium that i never want to see the vols play. it's a good bowl game. If your vandy, ky, uscjr etc... Not up to vols standards at all.

I saw the Vols play Wyoming at LP Field in 2002, I believe... That was fun. BUT it was to OPEN the season. If we played in the Music City Bowl, I'd be with you VOLSINC. It'd be riot time in Tennessee!!! ha ha

It is not if, but when they announce UT to Music City. But that is if they bump UK to Shreveport. UK has packed that stadium the last two times they played there.

I have no confidence in the Peach selecting UT. They had the opportunity to do so on Monday afternoon but passed in order to see if they could pull UGA. UGA could go there regardless of who wins the ACC. If Clemson wins then it will be UGA vs. VT. But they really want UGA vs. Clemson.

This UT team and the fans are going to get messed over and will have to like it. You can argue that we deserve it by not beating certain teams this year but we are still the 2nd place team in the East. Other than Ole Miss, no team had a better record than us. Even if we had won one additional game we could still have been passed over due to the rules of the conference.

I agree that the Chikin wants UGA-Clemson. There is pressure to take UT, and if they do, it will most likely be because of FSU getting the Gator for Bobby's big sendoff (especially if Clemson goes to the BCS). If you have listened to the Chikin spokesperson, his words are carefully couched and clearly scripted. He has consistently said that UT would be a good choice. And he's saying the exact same thing to UGA. They decided on UGA-Clemson, and they don't want to change that because the Outback messed the SEC up good.

The MC seems committed to UK and the Liberty to the Hogs. If the Chikin goes with UGA, the Vols drop all the way to Shreveport and South Carolina to Birmingham. Steve Spurrier has accepted it by making it clear that he doesn't give a crap.

No way Peach Bowl passes on Tennessee. Tennessee finished second in the east, ahead of Georgia, and both will sell out the Georgia dome regardless of who the opponent happens to be. On top of that, Tennessee is already buying up tickets, and will spend more money in the ATL on hotels and such. And Georgia has already beaten Va Tech recently, and I don't see Clemson losing to GT twice.

Will say Va Tech is less certain than Tennessee. We could end up playing whichever team in the ACC championship ends up being the worst.

Buy your tickets now. I want it to be 75+% Tennessee fans there.

i was born and raised in bristol. growing up i got to hear VT fans go on and on and on about how the cHokies were all that but the only thing they got going for them is a convict family of QBs, and a long lasting love affair with ESPN. i can't wait to play these guys and i can guarantee you that in the tri-cities area this one is gonna get heated!!!

If we don't get the Peach bowl, Kiffin and Co. ought to turn the bowl invitation down. As a vol that would suck but better to stand your ground than have some biased bowl run you over. If the Outback bowl picks us in the future they ought to pick a lower bowl just to snub'em.

yes it would. The players would miss out on the bowl game experience but more importantly UT would miss out on the extra practices. Can't afford to do that right now

I get what he is saying though, Take whatever bowl we get this year and sell it out (you don't boycott the bowl that takes us). Next year, when the Outback wants us we say no thanks we would rather have the Peach.

I'm all about screwing the Outback at this point.

If the Peach passes on us then the SEC needs to look at all of their bowl aggrements. I would think the powers that be realize the UGA fans are not energized so out of town folks will not travel like the UT fans.

If we get snubbed by the chick-fil-a I say the entire volnation go to their local outback resturante and riot. All of the problems can be traced back to the outback bowls inability to follow the unwritten rules of bowl game slotting if we get snubbed

I am so glad we don't play in the Outback, but it would be terrible to fall to the MCB. If the Peach Bowl committee has any sense they will select us. We haven't played there in a few years. We are excited to be in a bowl again. Half of east Tennessee hates VT and we ain't played them since Peyton was a freshman (go figure). There is a lot of interest in this game nationally. I don't think people want to watch a UGA team on the decline, I think they want to watch and see what this coaching staff can do with a month to prepare for a superior opponent.

Not according to the bowls. The only thing they pay attention to is a team's overall record. Conference records, head-to-head matchups....the bowls don't care about that at all. The bowls don't see us as "second in the East"; they see us as merely one of a bunch of identical 7-5 teams.

The conference has never been particularly good at getting the bowls to take teams in order anyway, and in a year when half the conference finished with the same record, it's hopeless.
