James Stone!! Out of this whole game there is something that hasn't been written about. We had no problems with the quarterback center exchange!! Smooth flowing game from center to quarterback. On top of the fact that he is left handed! :clapping:

Very true. I actually overlooked him playing center with the way Bray played.:good!:

I mentioned this in last nights game thread in the 4th quarter. For something the staff was so worried about the true freshman showed he could get it done. I was a little curious as to the way he snaps in the shotgun. Did anyone else notice how he just held the tip of the ball and kind of just flip it back to Bray? Most centers I have seen hold the ball the same way if they are under center or in the shotgun. Just something I found interesting.

Go Vols

Yeah. Harry Hiestand was fired by the Bears because the OL sucked year for Chicago. They hire Mike Tice, and the OL is even worse this year. Pretty amusing.

Funny thing about that was the bears kept signing guys that used to be good as OL but were washed up and expected Hiestand to be good with them. The Bears have some of the worse management in the NFL.

An improvement over Gooch, but let's see what happens when we play vs SEC defensive lineman

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but what a great game by Stone. Didn't see any poor exchanges and he seemed to take charge of the line. Pouncey prooved that this is no easy task and James only had a couple of weeks to prep.

I agree, James Stone played a solid game. I think he has a bright future at the University of Tennessee.

Stone did a great job, let's hope he keeps it up this weekend against better competition. Future is very, very bright for our o-line.

Schofield, Fulton, Thomas, Stone, James leading the way. Of the group only Thomas is a sophomore, the rest freshman. Solid o-line recruting class on the way too...

Should benefit from an off season of S&C and working on his technique. I was suprised that there was no issues on the exchange. Good for him.....

Is there an expectation that Stone will move back to guard as soon as Crowder us on campus (possibly backing him up at center)?

I hope not, Stone is very intelligent and can be a huge asset for us at the center position. We could have a need for him at guard with Crowder coming in, though. Who knows.
