Gotta say I wasn't expecting to completely strike out today (minus Dobbs) & I'm pretty sure hardly anyone really was. It hurts, not even gonna lie. I feel like I've been kicked in the nuts.

However, as easy as it is to be upset right now people need to realize what this staff actually accomplished. Before they got here we weren't even in the mix for a number of these guys (Lawson, Bell, Levenberry, Johnson, Dobbs, Miller, Brown, Bellamy, Boyd Gibson, Ford ect). It sucks to finish second but they deserve a lot of credit for at least giving us a chance & for getting the kids that we did get. This is a good class considering the circumstances.

So please try to hold off on ripping the coaches & the recruits that didn't chose UT. If this staff can actually coach up the Vols that we do have (and I believe they will) the big-time recruits will come. They just need to see improvement & I can't blame them. Did Saban pull in a top 10 class his first month on the job? Did Hugh Freeze?

Everyone just calm down. If you can't see the positive changes & buzz this staff has created you're blind. These coaches & players need ALL of our support. They can't do it without us.

He did ok, comparing it to other coaches that had only a few days to recruit in the recruiting year at a burning program he did above average, dobbs has the potential to make a monumental impact and he has a good WR class to help him do just that.

We got 3 good players upfront. Carr,Miller and Brown are good prospects. Brown and Miller could end up much better than advertised and Carr is going to be a very good one,IMHO!GO VOLS!!

Right now Rivals has us 21st Vandy 20th if we sign 3 more 3 stars top 20 class not bad for the mess Butch inherited. Also what about that 6'10" offensive lineman skipper.

Sorry, but I am not impressed with this class. The only way it could have been worse, is if North didn't sign with UT.

The failures of this class may be attributable to Dooley, but this is a results-oriented business. No one gets a trophy for trying hard.

Starting tomorrow, all recruiting successes and failures are on Butch Jones.

North is the only clear SEC level talent we brought in. Continue to delude yourself all you want, but CBJs first class is nothing short of subpar.

I appreciate every single kid who committed to UT and know they will give their all for our program, but this is a very disappointing day. To see kids flocking to other schools who are essentially stockpilling talent, knowing they will be third or fourth on the depth chart instead of coming to Tennessee to compete for a starting position imediately is disturbing. Something is profoundly wrong with this situation and I can't figure out what it is. The coaching turnover is obviously a major issue, but something else is going on.

You mean the same Jason Carr who Bama tried to flip isn't SEC level? That's just naming 1, keep trying troll....

Decommitted about 2 weeks ago to Arky. Wanted to play for Sam Pittman.

Some of you poster boys are idiots. This isn't the 90's. Our cycle will be back soon enough. Every team goes through this. Our bad years are close to ending. CBJ may not be the guy. But I have faith in him. But look to espnu if you need a reminder of the bad taste in your mouth. But this team is forever going to be the best in my book. We show improved play next year. We get to a bowl game. Next years class top 15. Then the big wins come year 2 for CBJ and team.

Guys.. someone has to say it..
Dooley did better in his first class then Butch..

..that being said.. i think (hope) butch is here for the longhaul with much success.

Ole Miss had only one more regular season win this year than we did. And they went 2-10 the year before. They have a top 5 class.

You don't have to win big right out of the gate to get recruits. You can't win in this league anyway without loads of talent. You just have to create enough excitement that convinces recruits that the wins will come down the road if they sign with you.

North the only one? Some of you are just simply stupid. Oh btw, CBJ's first class will be next year. If you wanna get mad at somebody it should be Dooley. Smh

It also doesn't hurt that the #1 player in the country has a brother on that team as well :hi:

Ok name some more please. I imagine you'll try to say Sanders and maybe that borderline 4 star ATH we picked up. Watch these guys, w/o orange tinted glasses if you're capable, then compare them to the ones the rest of the SEC is bringing in. There's little reason for optimism right now.

Also, according to Rivals Carr never even received an offer from Bama BTW

This is CBJs first class just like this was Malzahn and Bielemas first. If we want to be back among the elite we have to stop accepting mediocrity and coming up with excuses for them.
