That sez it all-give the man a rise in income- he has earned it. Put a sweetener in the deal- an extra 500 K if we win the east and one more 500 K for an SEC championship. I know we were only 6-6, but look how much better the direction of the program is. Butch said he would restore us to glory- so far-so good. If he bolts for Michigan or somewhere like that, do we really want to start over again? He is not the type to get paid and then get lazy; he is a pure competitor . He wants to be the best.

He has not earned a pay raise or a pay cut IMO. He has earned more time to get it done. "Give Butch more time" should be the argument.

Just a raise? How about a statue?

If we win the East next year,I will give $5oo toward a statue the next day. Why is everyone so upset about Vandy- we won. Maybe some of you gave the 15 points, so now you want Butch to make it good?

Ehhh.

I think he's doing a good job and he has us heading in the right direction...one we are paying him to do, and very well by the way. Bonuses come at milestone achievements. Win the East and we'll talk.

According to Mr Google, Butch is 9th in pay in the SEC. He is better than 9th, IMO. When he leaves for a better job- we will all be sorry.

I think Butch is the man, but what has he done to earn that? Sure he's recruited great, but hes 11-13 overall and 5-11 in the SEC.

It's not worth it yet.

Our athletic department is hemoraging money right now, my fellow season ticket holders can attest to their shameless begging for donations.

The last thing we need to do is give a raise to a man who has a losing record through his first two years at Tennessee.

Is he the guy? I hope, he sure can recruit, but does he deserve a raise? No, not right now.

Looks like a Bowl bonus will soon be in order:

In my book, he's better than 9th when we are ranked better than 9th. Proof is in the pudding. He came into a crummy situation and we look to be on the right track, but we need to be competitive in the SEC again before we discuss raises and bonuses.

Lord, I wish you guys were my boss at raise time.

I agree that he hasn't really deserved it being under .500 overall, but we would really regret it if someone grabbed him because he was underpaid. Keep the year length or add one year and raise his salary a little.

If anything, 9th in the SEC is too much. And he's not going to get a better job offer than the one he has.

This. He's doing what he was hired to do. Raises and bonuses are typically handed out for those who EXCEED expectations... and do so on more than one occasion. CBJ has proven he can recruit, I'm not sure he has proven he can coach as yet, and imo he certainly hasn't exceeded expectations as yet.
