Not to be too political as well; but as a player I would also avoid some of the more "aggressive" lock down states . . . Likely Massachusetts as well but I'm betting they are a bit more laid back on the cape.
Actually not laid back on the Cape. We got calls from programs who had guys set to go to the Cape that didn’t agree with how things were being handled.

Notice he does not use the Tennessee name or logo on his likeness or anywhere else.

Not allowed to. I was actually told that when I give research seminars at other institutions, I'm not allowed to have an image of the power T on my slides. (I ignored/conveniently forgot that)

Thanks for sharing. I lived in Atoka, TN from 1995 - 1998. I used to watch the USA team play in Millington, TN every night in preparation for the 96 Olympics in Atlanta. They took Bronze in 1996.

I wish that I had been more proactive to get some autographs. But they were fun to watch.

My wife worked for Babe Howard at Millington Phone Company and used to get free tickets.

Was part of the umpires that worked games for Team USA at USA stadium in Millington from 86- 90. 88 team won the gold as a demonstration sport. Lot of MLB players from that group

Link is recent story on the stadium. Pic of check I never did anything with

That is great news. I always wondered what happened to the stadium after they moved the Olympic location. I knew they played tournaments there still, but this is fantastic news. Thanks for sharing.

Is Team USA more attractive to guys now than the Cape? Or is it more of a function where these guys are scouted enough to where the Cape isn’t that big of a difference-maker?

Fwiw, I played ball in the mid 2010s, and at that point, the cape >>>> north woods/Team USA/Alaskan league/etc.

Tidwell would have been in Cali, so given how much he pitched as a freshman, USA works out great. Gilbert probably would be better off in the Cape, but if you get invited to play for your country….

I understand that. Seems to have some power freshman bats in the lineup. Crews was unbelievable this year.
