Thanks for sharing. I lived in Atoka, TN from 1995 - 1998. I used to watch the USA team play in Millington, TN every night in preparation for the 96 Olympics in Atlanta. They took Bronze in 1996.

I wish that I had been more proactive to get some autographs. But they were fun to watch.

My wife worked for Babe Howard at Millington Phone Company and used to get free tickets.

I went to games there in the late 80’s to early 90s.

This is great but I hope Tidwell doesn't throw to many innings this summer.

He's pretty young for the number of innings he threw for us already.

It only lasts two weeks and I guess due to COVID, no international games…best I can tell, if he’s in a starting role, he’ll probably only pitch, 2 maybe 3 times.

Gosh if they could just put out their summer ball announcements and the CTV extension and stadium renovations life wouldn’t be so hard.

I always wondered whether a player would get more PT and instruction in a summer league than a national team place.

It looks like - at least in 2021 at least; a position player would be better off in a high quality summer league than Team USA.

Weird year Frye, I don’t disagree this year.

Not to be too political as well; but as a player I would also avoid some of the more "aggressive" lock down states as well if going to a summer league. Just an unneeded hassle to deal with the mask Nazis. California would be at the top of the list. Likely Massachusetts as well but I'm betting they are a bit more laid back on the cape.

As it relates to Gilbert, he would be better off in the Cape…This Year…rather than the National Team, but, big but, it’s an honor to be asked, and This Year, he could actually go back to the Cape when he’s done…the National team won’t make it past the Mississippi River this year.

Or maybe I am missing your point?

Tidwell is better off with the National team this year, the Cali league would be a waste of time for him.
