Those cupcakes also help the cupcakes. Remember that. It's their big payday for their program and the big teams need them for tuneups and off weeks. Many smaller schools would simply have to drop football if they didn't play those powerhouse programs a couple of times a year. It ends up being most of their athletic budget for old school things like scholarships.Or we’ll get better regular season games without some playing so many cupcakes
FCS has actually been doing 24 teams in their playoff since 2013. It's been going just fine.

You’re basing your theory off years of old. Depth is thinner everywhere. Eventually, Oklahoma State’s are going to have a decent shot against Oregon’s every season. Then 12 will be an injustice.12 is just perfect, anymore is gonna ruin it, teams in there will have no business being there
There are at a minimum of a couple dozen who would drop football if not for their payday gamesThose cupcakes also help the cupcakes. Remember that. It is how Tennessee helps other smaller schools, like UTC, Tenn Tech, ETSU with the financial part of their programsThere are at a minimum of a couple dozen who would drop football if not for their payday games
Or more like 9-3 or 8-4 being ranked that high. Go back and take a look at the Playoff top 25 when they did the seedings and pairings. Tuesday after the last conference championship game. Look at the overall recordsHaving more teams in puts less stress on how the teams are positioned in the rankings so yes the 21 seed could be a 10-2 SEC or Big Ten school that could run the table.
24 teams is when I quit. Will be just like the NCAA Tourney
If we branch off in a super conference of 64 teams, those games may go away. There may be some sort of goodwill with some of the revenue sharing with the lower level. Who knows? It is how Tennessee helps other smaller schools, like UTC, Tenn Tech, ETSU with the financial part of their programs
Boring games but I get it. The only other way is just to take some of the money and give it to them.
Yep. All the best players from the mid majors will move up after a year there. It's already noticeable in the last couple of NCAA tournamentsNothing like March Madness, which is the joke of the whole thing. The idiotic selling point of a Cinderella run in a 24 team CFP is pure unadulterated fantasy. If there are 1-2 upset wins by G6 teams in a decade it will be a lot.
In CBB an underdog can get on a roll riding a funky scheme or a couple of red hot shooters, although with NIL and the portal those days are probably over. But in CFB elite talent and depth of talent wins the day, and never more than it will moving forward.
For all the talks about NCAA basketball, how many "cinderella midmajors" actually win the title.....HINT noneNothing like March Madness, which is the joke of the whole thing.
