Coker proved to be the "stud" last year, look at any game he had more than 5 carries and he out ran the starting back for that night. Foster can only run on weak defenses like vandy and kentucky. Look at his freshman year, yeah he ran for 800 yards in 5 games, but look at the teams we played. Coker is talent riding the pine and if he doesnt start this weekend i vote for CPF removement. Im sick of talent sitting on the sidelines while we are getting killed out there.

Coker had 5 rushes for 5 yards against Fla. Also, he rushed for over 100 yards 3 games last season. Marshall, Memphis, and Vanderbilt. So this weak competition argument is null.

We need an OL to open the doors and a back to run down hill, north and south. A lot of it depends on the line to make the openings. It is hard to run through a closed door. I know as I tried it last weekend after the final Florida score and it hurt. Bad.

One rush was a pitch that was stopped for a -9 yard loss. I want to say it was the corner that caught him because the WR didn't stick to his blocking assignment. Take that out and you have 4/14 yards. Still not great, but not terrible.

and foster only had 11 carries for 25 yards....also look at any ranked team we play..foster has the hardest time breaking 50 yards if even possible.

Yeah, he so great he ran backwards on that play. You can do that in HS and get away w/ it on speed alone, but you can't do it in Div 1a football. Dumb decision on his part for running backwards.

Not to make excuses, but I'm sure that Coker not playing much since December of last year has something to do with it. The kid has tremendous upside, a little discipline and he'll go very very far.

This particular weekend, I would like to get a good look at Creer.

I agree with that.

I also believe it's going to be hard for any RB without a consistent passing game and downfield threat. No reason for anyone to do anything but load the box if we can't throw. All the coach speak about establishing the run doesn't help either.

Foster has gone over 50 yards against a ranked team more than Coker has.

None of our RBs have done much of anything against a real defense, and that's going to continue until we get an offensive line that can actually run block.

Amen. Give the ball to Coker. The 2 games he has played he had 4 carries and 5 carries you can't put up good numbers or even get in a rythem with that many caries. If he could get 20 touches watch out orange checkered board.

i would imagine foster has more 50 yard games than coker being the starter and all..

Coker and Creer should get more touches.

Hardesty should rarely touch the ball the rest of the season.

With our OL's performance, we could have Emmit Smith, Jim Brown, and Barry Sanders in our backfield, and they still won't get any yards.

Agreed 100%

Agreed, and though it would have been ideal to have been able to redshirt him I'm thinking it might not be a bad thing to let Vereen show what he can do also, at this point we need to find some playmakers regardless of where they are on the depth chart.

I agree with seeing a good look at Creer. Foster is IMO the best all around back in the stable. I honestly think that the backs where coached to run half speed towards the florida line in hopes of finding a cutback lane on the young D. The reason i say this is during the Cal and SM games Foster seemed to hit the hole good and most of the time was running downfield, not so at Florida. And i don't trust Coker enough anymore to depend on him as the primary back. Let's see Creer.

That wasn't because of any game plan. That was due to Florida's front 7 (even if they are inexperienced) being about 5 times better than Cal's and USM's. There just weren't any holes to hit.

So the sentiment from the pro-Foster people is we should stick with him because we don't think we have anyone better?
