why was he playing toward the end of the game???

Preface: I understand he's been one of our playmakers in the past and we want to get him ready for Florida but...

(1) He's playing on a less than 100% ankle in a game that was ON THE LINE and he could not produce at the level we needed him to (see the poor effort he gave us on the ball that was intercepted as he SHOULD have attempted to jump higher regardless)...

(2) It was obvious that he and the kid with the dead beaver on this face were not on the same page (see last play of game even though Crompton looked like he was skipping stones out there)...

I was just perplexed by this... :ermm:

If we had Jerry Rice in his prime lined up at wideout, it wouldn't have made a bit of difference today. The problem wasn't Gerald.

Eh - to be fair to Crompton (for a change) - the WRs really weren't getting open either which was surprising. There were a few times they got open and Crompton missed them - or the pass protection just failed and Crompton didn't have the time/presence to hit them.

Well, not sure about anything today. Hancock is what , 6'2" and the guy on him was 5'6" maybe and we never throw a ball to him when inside the 20 to the end zone? And we never run a screen, or a crossing route as we did in the first game? I really hope this was just one of those days for CLK and CO., but I am severely disappointed. 3 time zones, a RS frosh QB and we can't win this one? Please let UCLA win the PAC-10. Geez, just can't figure this one.

Gerald Jones had no reason to be out there today. He did nothing to help out the team.

Why did Brandon Warren disappear all of a sudden? You're saying a healthy BW is not better than a less than 100% Gerald Jones? Sheesh.

G Jones played poorly. A lot of missed routes at critical times. Bad time to bring him in the game, he wasn't ready.

It was all Crompton.

He was referring to a couple pass plays on the last drive where Jones ran in the opposite directions the ball was being thrown.

ok good.

I saw a guy arguing earlier that it was jones fault and he ran the wrong route:blink:

i was like really?....cause if he ran the wrong route he either wouldnt have been wide open, or if he was, the qb would have adjusted
