Gerald Jones as a RB??

How is it bad to have the roll of tissue facing that way ? I always turn mine that way...

I really would like to see it. Jones would be a very shifty back and would have success, IMO.

You can't be serious about this move.

1) He's a slot receiver and should be pretty good at it.

2) Bryce Brown, Oku, and Hardesty are all better RBs than Gerald Jones.

3) Just no to this again.

I can't imagine them using G. Jones as a running back, but at least it would allow him to use his "run after catch" abilities without him having to work for a catch. He will never be an elite reciever until he starts working for the catch. Elite recievers are willing to fight for the ball. He only catches the ball if it's on the money and no one is trying to take it from him. In other words, OVER RATED. He'd better step up before he gets passed up.

I think Jones should be utilized a little more like Percy Harvin was at Florida. Not saying he needs to get that many touches as a back, because we already have a staple of good RB's...however I could stand to see Jones get a few handoffs a game in addition to his role as WR: designed running plays, reverses, misdirections etc. I think that would keep our opponents on their toes a little more, and or work a lot better than the predictable G-Gun.

Forget the G-Gun. I honestly hope they burnt that play package and shredded what was left. At least if he's lined up in the backfield behind the QB, the defense will be guessing.
yeah exactly!! because the G-Gun was a major part in almost beating the national champs in 07'.

dude, you have to go over the top

underneath is just plain wrong

I don't know why, but it just is :)

I like to pull from the bottom and then fold it up.
I don't like pulling from the top and folding down.

My way is the best. I declare this day "Fold your tissue down, National Holiday"

Why would you want to take your most talented and explosive receiver and move him to a position you are already stacked at? We dont have enough good WR's to be thinking about moving ANY of them to a different position, IMHO.

I think Teague and Nuke will get those touches in the run game. I would like to see Jones make some plays at receiver this year and that's it. And he's nowhere near Percy's level so just drop the using him in that role talk.

We have plenty of running backs but have serious issues at WR. If anything we should consider doing the other way around

Gerald hasn't really had a chance to show much at WR.

He had a bum hammy most of his freshman year. When he did play, he made plays.

Last year, he had 5 receiving TDs despite having quite possibly the worst QB play in Tennessee's history. He also sprained his ankle last year correct?

Let him play a full season with adequate QB play and then we'll judge.
