The Akron game is over. Fans are gonna take the game different ways. In the end, UT is supposed the win the game. Outside of Brodus the game went as expected with the final score. But it is also hard to actually look at that game and pull many other positives. UT looked flat, lost, and continue to make mental errors in places that make you scratch your head. Now its back to the real schedule.

Thoughts on UGA.

If UT doesn't find a lot (and that may be an understatement) of answers this week on defense we will have to score 47 again just to have a chance.

If the offensive line can not blow Akron off the LOS on obvious running plays we can't expect to covert 3rd and 3 or less by running the ball.

If Tyler Bray makes a bad decision or 2 early in this game as he has the last 2 games, it may get ugly before the 1st quarter is over.

You want to go into a game like this full of confidence and momentum. To date we played our best football a month ago. We are gonna have to exceed that effort to have a chance Saturday.

I would consider it a miracle if we won at this juncture. I'm rooting for us not wetting the bed.

I watched the UGA - Vandy game. If UGA plays like that against UT, we lose by 20, easy.

The over/under for our next 4 games is "1". If we just make the mark, that leaves us at 4-4 heading into the stretch.

Troy and Mizzou are toss-ups. Suddenly, I don't like playing at Vandy. UK in Knoxville is another Akron game.

I can see 8-4, or 5-7. Unless we go 5-7 or worse, we're stuck with Dooley for one more year.

I'm also in agreement with FredWhite2 that Hart already has a short list, and a good one.

We'll see how it plays out.

I missed this. Care to explain?

I'm not going to try to make predictions on the Vols. You never know what this bunch is going to do. Not feeling good about next weekend so we'll probably win by 2 TDs.

All signs point to Georgia taking us to the woodshed, but there's a reason that games are played on the field and not on paper. Crazier things have happened.

Are you saying we beat miss state on the road?

We certainly are capable of playing with them if we fix mistakes and play a full 60 mins imo.

Yep like auburn holding LSU to 12 points. I hope we win but it will take a great game. Go Vols

The AD at Bama has a short list...

As well as any other AD in the country worth their tie...

I honestly see us coming out playing hard and keeping it close for a quarter and a half, maybe even two quarters. Then they'll just destroy us in the second half.

Or we may come out and get blitzkrieged right out of the gate.

Either way I think we lose by no less than 3 tds.

I agree that the shortlist is intact and as late as the start of the 4th quarter tonight, I wondered if Dools would even clear the field with his job intact.

But I do think it's only fair that Dooley get the credit/blame for what happens in the next four games--and the rest of the season.

Our players' talents are so much better than our coaches, it's almost sickening. That talent is not well-developed and the schemes totally suck. Add that to the reality that Tennessee football has a tradition and reputation that will sell, and I think that shortlist will smell opportunity.

I look forward to seeing who we get this off season. There's no way this team can save Dools' job, and it's not the players' faults.:hi:
