We are kinda rebuilding this year. Freshman QB, new scheme on D, etc. Remember that in the initial Nico timelines last year was supposed to be our big year. Our playoff berth just happened a year earlier than we thought it would.

This year is gonna be more about growth and setting ourself up for 2027-getting a QB established and comfortable. Does Brandon take things in stride or does he stumble early and George get a look see? What if he turns out to be a gamer and takes off?/. What becomes of Brandon then? How does our D handle the scheme and coordinator change? Have we stabilized our kicking game after the mess we had last year?.

Season basically starts the GT game (anyone here seriously worried much about Furman?) so a large number of questions will start being answered pretty quickly


As I said earlier in this thread, we should handle GT pretty easily-pulling away late, but if we let them get confidence we could be in trouble. Rest of ooc schedule is nothing concerning

Important game that weekend. I think it will be good for Faizon to get a road start. But, Georgia Tech will be breaking in a New OC, New QB, amongst other new pieces on offense. Brent Key has brought physicality to Georgia Tech, so if we go in and dont play with physicality they will be in this game until the clock hits 0 in the 4th. If Tennessee shows up with physicality this game will not be close imo.

Disagree kind of.

I think if we lose that game good chance we go on to have a disappointing season. I don’t rank it on the same level of importance as some other games. Hell it’s not even a conference game. But if you’re asking if that game is an accurate predictor of the season, I would absolutely agree with you.

Disagree - is it a big game, yes with the sport structured the way it is now, they are all "must win, big games".
Is it the biggest game of the season? - NO

We could lose this game and it will have no affect on the outcome of the SEC and very little affect in the race getting to the CFP.
It may affect the psyche of the team to lose early in the year, but the great teams bounce back and win.

Absolutely agree! We cannot lose to Ga Tech with how difficult our SEC schedule is. I'm really glad Haynes King is gone, dude was a baller. Key is a really good HC, just not sure he will ever be able to bring in enough great players to win at a high level, even in a bad ACC. But, he will always have a team you don't wanna play.

I don't think we're a CFP team next season anyway, but a loss to them could hurt our CFP chances if we do make it to that point. I guess it would depend on if GA Tech ends up a 10-2 team or a 5-7 team. You can survive a non conference loss to a 10-2 team, doubt we could to a 5-7 team. Especially if we're hovering around being in conversation for one of the last spots. Would also depend on who we beat and lost to in the SEC. With how tough our SEC schedule is this year, a loss to Ga Tech means we can't lose 3 SEC games and still make the CFP. Losing to 3 SEC teams, depending on which teams , we could still sneak in. JMO

It will be a decent gauge of how we will compete against the meat of the schedule, that’s for sure. If we win convincingly I’ll feel a lot better.

Indiana starters age average was 23 years old. Extremely mature team.

GT has the other Mendoza brother this year, heard he's more of a runner than his brother, and the RB that was at Bama, then MI

Another reason I hope game one, we're not splitting reps at QB
