With Georgia signing two very highly rated QB recruits (Zach Mettenberger and Aaron Murray) for the class of 09 i was wondering... Can LK turn either of these guys? Clearly both of them want to play SEC football, and UT has a great tradition, up and coming coach who is probably willing to start a freshman QB. Just my two cents.

your thoughts??

sorry i know this should be in the recruiting forum and im going to get eaten alive but ive found that a lot more people look in the general one..

You can go ahead and mark Aaron Murray off the list. When he got hurt last year, Mark Richt said that he would honor is scholarship even if he didn't step on the field.

Really?... Well, I have to say that is classy. I'm impressed.

Who cares where he posts? We've talked about Tahj Boyd so much in this forum; no difference.

I don't think we'll turn those guys but I really hope CLK can turn Barkley...but I'm not holding my breath.

There is more chance that we win the National Championship next year then us landing Murray, Metterbooger, or Barkley.

No chance.

Mettenbergers mom works for UGA and he lives 5 minutes away
Murray is like the Zach Rogers of UGA. He's calling all the recruits telling them to come.
Barkley will never leave USC.

All three of these points are 110% true.

Kiffin is trying to land Brighford who is committed to CAL. He is also looking to sway Savage from Rutgers. Look for a transfer from USC or Penn State.

I think the latest on the Brighford rumor is that it has been debunked. It would be nice, but it isn't going to happen. Check it out on the recruiting forum.

If Kiffin can somehow pull a 4 or 5 star pro-style QB in this class he is a miracle worker. Everyone might just want to be content on what we have now and wait for a top recruit in 2010.

I think we try for a top raked QB for 2010 and live with what we have right now...not much time to convince one for this year, so why recruit a marginal QB. With the right QB coach we may have a winner now. :dunno:

Barkely is enrolling at USC in like 4 days. I think we have the best shot at Murray, but that is like .01% or something very slim. Mettenberger is the best out of all 3 though, IMO.

One of those Georgia QBs is going to end up being really pissed off when it's all said and done when they end up sitting out a year after transferring.

IMO if we do pick up a qb before next season it will be a transfer. I like what CLK is doing recruiting-wise, I think he's done a great job so far. By the time NSD rolls around the class should be very nice. I'm stoked, just plain stoked.
