with in-state recruiting. They have the top player but you can call it a day after that. FSU, Alabama, and Auburn are having a field day with Georgia recruits so far. Granted they have Theus commited from Florida but I struggle coming up with a star recruit from Bolles that made the step from HS to Saturday games. Maybe Theus will be the exception but in-state it is a blood bath.

Wish it were true, but reality is GA is loaded with talent. UGA can only take so many and they have needs to fill as well. You really can't bash CMR's last class, so how do you frame your point ?

Seems like a bad thing to me. Giving Mark Richt talent to work with doesn't really worry me. Giving Nick Saban talent to work with scares the hell out of me.

As I did. Wasn't bashing last years class or even referring to it. The point is related to their in-state Georgia commitments for this upcoming class, and lack thereof.

Prepare to have an "insider" and possibly a few other classy trolls correct you. Georgia has always had loaded teams, they're like the Texas of the east except they don't have a bunch of good in state colleges to compete with like Texas. Like one poster said, I am more worried about Saban getting these recruits than Georgia.

You think its bad now next year is going to be even uglier....dt from Grayson should leave the state and then the top lbs committed to Auburn and Bama as of now. 2014 is the Berry brothers

This is the weakest the SEC East has been in a long time. If Richt doesn't do something this year, I don't think UGA can continue to make excuses for him. As others have said, the problem hasn't been the recruiting.

I've never been one to live or die by recruits, but if the Berry boys are anything but Vols, my poor heart just might give out. After watching Eric, I want these two as Vols in a bad way. (no homo)

We'd really better hope Dooley has a lot of success. If he's on the hot seat or if we've had a recent coaching change come the end of 2013, we lose our best chance at getting a package deal of potential gamebreakers.

Agreed, but IMHO, I like what Dooley is doing and I feel like success is going to come. He's exceeded what I expected already. With what he inherited, I really didn't expect a bowl game last year. Hopefully it all comes together on the field. I just hope they continue the Berry family legacy of bleedin' orange.

I have to think the reason Georgia recruits are leaving is that they are the ones that hear everyone complaining about Richt and UGA always underacheiving. Even though a lot of talent is leaving the state they are still putting together another nice class. It may actually be easier for them to recruit out of state where all these kids aren't hearing multiple people bad mouth UGA on a daily basis. This may not be the case, but if they start out 0-2 or probably even if they lose to Boise then listen to some of the local sports talk or read some of the comments at AJC.

I understand that they cannot get top all the talent in the state but when your top talent players are leaving the state it is an issue.

Jessamen Dunker should be included as well since he is grew up in GA and just moved to Florida in the Spring.

The title of this thread is very misleading. The entire state is LOADED with talent on a yearly basis. There is no way in he!! that we are going to sign them all. I don't understand what's so hard to understand about that.

Let me give you guys an example. There's a high school here in metro Atlanta that probably has better recruits than the entire state of TN. That's it, one high school. 3 of those kids had offers from us but decided to go out of state, there's nothing wrong with that.

Sure there's alot of prospects that we've offered but there has also been plenty of other guys we never offered, some of which ended committing to UT (you can add one more to that list in a couple of hours). His name is Cromm, shhhhhh.

I trust the job our staff does with recruiting. We have the #1 player in FL, we're still in it for the #1 player in GA, we're in VERY good shape with the #1 player in NC and also rated as the #1 back in the country. I will not even get into the class we had last year. Its about quality boys, not just quantity.

We're doing just fine. Now if you want to talk about a team dismantling a rival with recruiting, look no further than Vandy. They are racking up the instate boys.
