So was Gerry Faust when Notre Dame hired him. High school and college coaching is apples and oranges.

george quarles is in a great situation with Maryville having those Blount county recruiting advantages. the rules there say as long as you live in Blount County you can go wherever you like. So naturally if you are a good player you are a Rebel. Also the other thing is Quarles took over for Coach hammontree who got the Championships coming their way. He then took a higher football classification job in Georgia and who knows how he is turning out. Needless to say who knows what would Happen if George was given the chance but thats not a risk an Elite program can take! Stay in high school George!

Alcoa consistently has more D1 talent, yet Quarles continues to defeat them year after year.

yeah but Alcoa is in which division their school enrollment is alot less which means naturally less players. So Yes Alcoa has a couple D1 athletes fairly often but Maryville is 2 & 3 deep at every position. Any coach can make that happen. nice try though

If any coach can make that happen, why hasn't Quarles lost in 4 years?

Alcoa couldn't beat them with Brandon Warren and the rest. OC may be a little much of a transition at least for a few years but there should definitely be a spot for him on the coaching staff if he wants to pursue it.
