Has anyone else tried this? My friends and I have recently discovered it and it is a fun way to get out and active, but so far it has been a bit frustrating as we have only tracked down one cache. I think it has to do with our only being able to go out late at night to this point, hopefully soon we can hunt them during daylight hours.

If you have never heard of it, it is a kind of game where you are given clues and GPS coordinates and you attempt to locate caches which could be anything from ammo boxes, to buckets, to small magnetic keyholders. There is usually an item left by the last person to find it, and a log so you can sign your or your team's name to it to show you have been there.

I've never heard of Geocaching, but it looks very interesting. Have you ever received anything? I'm definitely goin' to look further into this.

A friend of mine and her son do something called letter boxing that sounds similar.

I've been geocaching for quite a while now. It's a ton of fun. My step-brother is the person that got me hooked on it. I haven't had a lot of time to go out caching during the summer, but anytime a new cache is posted, I'm going to try to be first to find. During the fall, I'm going to spend several days caching. There are quite a few around here I would like to find.

Speaking of geocaching, I'll give you a quick story. I was after one that was hidden way back in the woods down a long trail. You had to park and walk about a mile or a little longer to get to it. There were several turns in the trail, and I wasn't really sure how I got back there. When I finally got about 200 ft. from the cache, the batteries in my GPS receiver died. I didn't have any more batteries with me. I did in the car, but I didn't know how to get back to the car. So be sure you take some extra batteries with you when you go.
