Gene DeFilippo and Philip Fulmer

I'm going to bed. Take care buddy. Sorry Volnation that this thread got ruined, but it is upsetting that Lane's new kid won't even know what the school system is like in Knoxville... So to go back to my original point, that is why I think UT is whoring itself out.... He will be gone in 4 years, either by being fired or gone somewhere else....

So if Fulmer had been fired after 4 years, UT would have whored themselves out for him? Did we whore ourselves out with Trooper Taylor, Latrell Scott, and Dave Clawson? Is Phil Fulmer a jon or a pimp (I don't really understand the metaphor) for hiring David Cutcliffe, knowing he'd gladly leave if he were to get a head coaching offer? Did Phil turn a trick on Wichita State and Vanderbilt?

huh? UT whored themselves out because they got rid of a coach that knew how to win in order to get some new face, who has no college head coaching experience, and gave him A LOT more money than they ever gave Fulmer to assemble a staff... you give Fulmer the money to hire two assistants that total 1.5 million dollars and I guarantee you he would have somebody better than Slade too...

Fulmer could have gotten someone better than Dave Clawson for $350,000. I'm not sure I'd trust Phil's hiring judgment, anyway. He doesn't have a record of making good hires and his top choice for the job was the buffoon that ran Clemson's offense into the ground on his way to unemployment. And Fulmer clearly didn't "know how to win" against Meyer, Saban, or Spurrier. Those are the guys we need to beat. Also, it became fairly obvious that he couldn't maintain much discipline without his Dukie buddy.
