I have never seen this video.

YouTube - General Neyland

I have read the story, but never heard it from someone
who was present when it happened.

Just thought with the new,we should remember the past.

Can't get the link to work on this one.

The footage is from Tennesse's trip to the Rose Bowl in late 1940. Pat Roddy Jr. had a home movie camera on the trip to and from Pasadena. What you are seeing is part of the welcome party for the Volunteers.

In case you were wondering, the footage is 47 minutes.

Sir,

You do understand the footage is silent? Home movie cameras were expensive in the late 30's. A sound camera would have been a luxury.

Have ever seen a Castle Film Football parade on sale? In 1947 the sound version sold new for $19.95. Servicemen returning from overseas got put on the 52/20 plan. Twenty dollars a week unemployment for 52 weeks.
