Is this proof of homosexuality in the animal kingdom or is this just a couple of confused whales?

The gay community would like us to believe the former. I wasn't aware that whales had recreational sex to begin with

I feel bad for these whales. Probably spent considerable time find a bloke to poke and arranging a very discrete meat-n-eat, only to become an international news story.
Should've booked the ocean at night when it's harder to see.

Whales, Orca and other Dolphins, & Pinnipeds have long been observed to engage in homosexual behavior.

It’s nothing new.

No one had ever recorded humpbacks engaged in copulation. That was new and interesting. Just happened to be two males.

Homosexuality is quite common in the animal kingdom. Animals also change sexes. It's a thing.
Fish, Frogs, Jellies - those are the types of animals that are documented changing sex for reproductive purposes.

It’s not documented in higher functioning, social animals like homosexual behaviors are.

I don’t think that trick’s been accomplished yet by homo sapiens

Do you think only humans get pleasure from it? Do you not understand that the reason we get pleasure from it is so we do it? Same with animals. Most sexual encounters dont result in pregnancy is my guess. The whale isn't thinking “ I want to insure my lineage continues.” It's thinking hey this feels great when I do it. Would you speculate otherwise?

Bonobos and dolphins are known for this. The rest of the animal kingdom, not so much

Did you not start this thread an actual picture of two homo-humpbacks boinking?

Do you believe they were engaged in a reproductive act? What were they doing?

We really don’t know much about their sex behavior, hence my posting it and opening this up to discussion. It appears something weird is going on here. It appears that the whale on the bottom was in the process of dying. This wasn’t two healthy whales having a good time

Probably like that scene in Almost Famous when the plane's going down and the drummer yells out "I'm gay!" right before he thinks he's dying.

And all the other documented cases of whales? Was there always a dying whale involved there too?

The many documented encounters of male giraffes?
The many documented encounters of male elephants?
Bison?
Big horn sheep?
Pinnipeds?

Clearly he's not a power bottom.

I've had too much wine. I'm going to bed.
