Gavin Bryant to fullback?

Auburn won a National Championships recently and runs a New Age Spread type offenses.....

Tennessee will have a Dominant running game but it won't be because of an I formation....We had a Dominate Run game this year and didn't have an I formation until the Bowl game. It was a wrinkle to throw off Northwestern since they hadn't seen it all year. Don't expect to see that formation dominate our offense we are primarily a shotgun team that wants to spread out the defenses. That will be the majority of our offense.

They had Cam Newton. That same system has Gus on a very hot seat.

At one time years ago, the shotgun was used primarily for a team that could effectively pass the ball. Guess that concept has been lost with our offense.

Hope we see more of the old school I-formation, especially with Hurd. Would we spring this surprise at them today? Is Butch that creative?

Been some time, but I think Greg Amsler was a fullback and once they started to use him to carry the ball, he demolished defenders.

I like the idea of using a fullback, especially when they get to carry the mail.

Amsler post on here or TOS

Butch said on Vol Calls this week we could see "two-back, even three-back sets." Also said we will see two and possibly three tight ends. So they know Florida's defense is very, very good and they need to help out the o-line.

Another Bryson would be nice, but just get another blocker who can put a helmet on one of the helmets we have been missing and the run game should look a whole lot better, especially if both Hurd and Kamara are in at the same time.

And if and when we do get the run game moving, I will relish the first time Hurd seeks out Tabor and levels the mouthy little jerk.
