GatorBait.com admits they are likely getting beat in Knoxville on September 24!

WHAT TO EXPECT: If there's ever been a year for Tennessee to snap its 11-game skid against Florida on paper, it's this one. The Volunteers are more proven on offense by a landslide and could very well be on the way to becoming one of the nation's top overall teams in 2016.

The real question mark and X-factor is whether coach Butch Jones and his team can get over the mental hurdles that have seemed to plague the Volunteers so far under his tenure. Some very questionable coaching decisions in close games have caused the team to play tight and choke things away late. If that continues to be an issue, there's no reason to think Florida can't remain competitive and win again in Knoxville.

But there's no mistaking the fact that the Volunteers have far less question marks than the Gators heading into the season. There is loads of experience returning, the game is in Knoxville and Tennessee will be out for blood.

This one will be a very tall task for a young Florida team
.

Opponent Preview: Trip to Tennessee could be toughest in years

Florida's run is over--they got lucky the last 2 years. This year, Butch lays it on! UT 33 Fla 13!

Also, the writer knows TN fans when he says "the game is in Knoxville and Tennessee will be out for blood." The stadium will be crazy during that game. If we build a large lead and maintain it could get nuts at Neyland that night.

As long as Butch doesn't try to play Mr. Nice Guy, we should be good. I don't give a damn if we're up 3 touchdowns with 30 seconds remaining on the Florida 5 yard line. Pound the ball into the endzone.

Nah, they aren't scared, they just know. Know they will lose to the Vols in Knoxville on September 24, 2016.

The worst part for them, you just don't lose to Tn.

Lol this is like the 8th topic about the Florida game on the first two pages. Not sure if this was necessary.

Anyway, Florida isn't scared. Just like we weren't scared the last few years to play them. Their team will be ready to play hard. Expecting anything less or referring to them as "scared" just sounds childish.

I'm not hearing much from my Gator pals down here. Been sort of peaceful for a change.

I like the Vols in this game as long as Butch and Co don't screw it up like the 2014 & 2015 disasters.

Your right, they aren't scared, they are just having trouble adjusting to expecting to lose. They may be afraid of that feeling, "Own It" gators, expect to lose.

I thought we been saying this for years? I am ready but is our team and coaching ready for the pressure of beating Florida? We have the talent but can we take advantage of it?

Agree. FL is not scared. They have talent. And a 11 game win streak to boot. Any Vols fan that thinks this is gonna be a walk in the park is sadly mistaken. We will have our hands full come Sept. 24th. Nonetheless , I do predict us winning.

I don't think they expect to lose either. They probably feel just as confident that they will win this game, and why shouldn't they? It's been 11 years in a row since we have defeated them.

It is going to be a brutal war in Neyland. I think VN needs to tone it down a bit on the "Florida is scared, they know they will lose" narrative.

I am more worried about the Vandy game on 10/1 than I am of the Vol game. Our defense was embarrassed last year by Hurd and Dobbs, running the ball. I think they will be more than prepared for this game.

On the other side, the vols are going to play this game like it's their super bowl. They will be hearing about the streak for a week and a half before the game, all while being told they should kill UF.

Distractions, overconfidence and Butch Jones!

Gators win 27 - 9

Florida's team doesn't expect to lose, but their fans have lost confidence and are hedging their bets so to speak. Many Florida fans expected a loss last year and were so shocked and happy anytime anything good happened for them. They were glad the season ended when it did, and now are just hoping for the best. This offseason has been depressing for Florida fans, they know what's coming. For Vol fans it can't come fast enough, them gators are dreading what about to happen.

No need to tone it down.
