just another slap in the face for a Gator fan!:)

I will admit, coming out of 2007, our Dline was horrible (remember the collapse against LSU...we couldn't stop even 1 4th down attempt)...
in 2008, we hoped Brown would be a playmaker for us...unfortunately, he not only had academic problems, he had workout issues...

so, am I sad to see the potential he had gone, sure!... is it a slap in the face, I don't think so...it is unfortunate he struggled both academically and on the practice field...maybe JUCO will give him the second chance he needs...

does anyone remember what he said about Tn in 2006 (when Alabama was recruiting him hard)... if you don't remember, do yourself a favor and try to find it, it was not very favorable

There is a world of difference between Tn in 2006 and Tn in 2009.

oh, I agree...Tenn is on the rise, no doubt...and 3 years ago, Ala was recruiting him, and Tenn wasn't in the mix, so I am sure his comments were just that of an immature nature against a potential rival...but when he was at the top of the recruiting potential, Florida did get him...

now he still has that potential, and I wish him luck at Tenn and his career, but even a reasonable Tenn fan has to be somewhat lukewarm about him, until he demostrates he is a stud on the field (and at least avg in the classroom) we all thought he would be, and he turned out not to be...

he is in juco for academic reason.....he will enroll in early summer school so no academic violations..... when are we gonna start recruiting offensive players like wide receivers and a QUATERBACK i mean i like to see the recruits but i would love it more to see a playmaker committ on the offense side

We are trying to scare offensive recruits in to committing by getting all of the defensive studs we can. :p

I know I wouldn't want to play against our D for the next couple of years. Teams better have a bye week after they place us.....

From a Florida Fan

I really hope JB does well just not against us of course.

Just wanted to share some info on him. He still has a little bit to go academically to qualify. Academics have always been tough for him because he was diagnosed with a learning disability, and it really seems to hamper him.

Also he has never really seen the field at Florida so I really don't know where people are getting these ideas of how good he is (im guessing from HS film). The major problem with him has been motivation. He doesn't always seem to play hard at practice therefore he will never see time in a game. He is very quick off the ball for a DT though so if you guys can motivate him he could be a decent player. His biggest limitation is his attitude and his size. He really is only 5"10 and that is so tiny for a DT.

Good Luck hope it works out for you and him.

That's the attribute LK was looking for.

He couldn't cut the academics at florida, but kiffin will keep him eligible at UT---it should be much easier with the classes he can take.

Rivals has him rated as the 10th best DT from 2007. I'll take him.
