I know, I am on a Vol board. I know I haven't shown up in a while. Although no arrest is a laughing matter, I do want to defend my team.

Orlando Sentinel - From one to 24: Florida Gators database on legal troubles by

This is a list of the charges, what happened to the charges (dropped, community service, etc) and Meyer's punishment. Most of the "arrests" were minor incidents and said player has stayed out of the limelight. The major infractions have caused the player to be kicked off the team (and that's what you would want, correct?) Regardless, this is unwarranted by any player, or person. There is a difference between 8 grams of MJ and beating a woman.

I have to wonder what UGA's 30 arrests involved, etc.

4 of the charges were not scholarship players (Hannah, Curtis, Grace x2)
14 of the charges are by players who were subsequently ushered off the team (Horns x2, Wilson x3, Grace x2, Demps, Atkins, Davis, Newton, Rickerson x 2, Hannah*** who is this guy?)

That leaves:
JANORIS JENKINS- Fight.
CARL JOHNSON- all charges dropped because he got on the school's transit system (with a friend during normal school hours) the same time his ex was on the bus. Who cares.
RILEY COOPER-???
JERMAINE CUNNINGHAM- throwing a cup
TONY JOINER- breaking his girlfriend's car out of a lot (though he did pay- he just couldn't wait long enough for them to open. Charges dropped)
DUSTIN DOE- Fight (no suspension)
DORIAN MUNROE-removed a boot from his car.
BRANDON JAMES- Marijuana Misdemeanor
LOUIS MURPHY- Marijuana Misdemeanor 2006.

This is an issue larger than specific schools. We all are recruiting the same athletes. It's too bad rivals try and turn it into weapons to use against each other's institutions, instead of recognizing and addressing the larger issues of crime and youth.

minor, first-time incidents by college kids at any school have never really concerned me (fights, weed, public intox, underage drinking, etc). While blogs may count them against the team it's really just stupid stuff and can be taken care of by the coach as he sees fit. What I start to look at are the repeat and/or serious offenders for things like guns, domestic abuse, selling coke to undercover cops 5 times, robbing a fellow student of $26 in the dorms at gunpoint, etc.

I thought this one was the best!

TONY JOINER- breaking his girlfriend's car out of a lot (though he did pay- he just couldn't wait long enough for them to open. Charges dropped)

Sounds like something I might have done

Agree 100%.

I drank a lot of beer before I was 21 and got in a lot of fights.

It's repeating the dumbass decisions everyone makes is what gets me.

If I remember correctly, we gave LG a hard time over that one. :)

They are no big deal GoGator. It happens at basically every big time school. 18 year olds are not the best decision makers.

I know you know this, but I am just saying it to say most of us aren't up in arms about it. It doesn't even phase me at all unless the charges are something like car jacking or something similar.

Law gator do you honestly think that Kiffins secondary violations are a huge deal that the media makes them out to be???? i would really like to know how are rivals view these situtions... i believe kiffin has 6 in 6 months that is on pace for 12 a year when most big time colleges average somewhere around 15 to 30 a year and none get publized at all by espn or media outlets... what is your take on this matter does it deserve to be talked abot by otl or pti sportscenter 1st n 10 and all of that?

How come espn is spending more time digging for dirt on lane kiffin instead of looking at all these arrests of urban meyer's players????
