then use vegtable oil. trust me, it works.
Yeah. I've used some olive oil in a chipotle marinade. I guess what I meant earlier is that I prefer the slow and low method because, if I have my druthers, I prefer to buy really prime beef and not put anything on it. For some reason it just seems to take forever to cook at low heat on a gas grill. I do not know if this is a matter of thermodynamics or just my perception of the matter.

i always season my cut of beef with something. obviously, if it's a good cut, you don't need much, but just something simple like salt and pepper works.

I have a cast-iron smoker box on my Ducane, and it really adds nice flavor when filled with pre-soaked Mesquite or Hickory.

Ditto the above post regarding heat. For cooking steaks, I preheat it close to white-hot, then lightly grease the grate. The direct high temperature sears the beef and holds in more of the juices.

Especially once you get past the urge to open the grill every 5 minutes. :p My Father-n-law is a Holland dealer. :eek:k::eek:k:

Have you ever cooked a full sized turkey in it? Drench it in the seasoning and then cook it on the Holland. It's to die for.

My wife's employer sells Hollands. I'm a little miffed that they don't sell the seasoning anymore. I need a case of that stuff...

Isn't it the same thing as what they now call Carolina Seasoning?

That's exactly what we do. I haven't had a turkey from the oven in years.

It's a staple for whatever we throw on the grill.....throw some eggplant and squash on the grill with the seasoning. Or just throw anything and everything...like you said, even cereal would be good with that stuff.
