Garza/Wilson Hired

So apparently everyone knows more about these guys than I do.

Are they good coaches?

I read up a little on each. Wilson has the SEC experience from Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Garza seemed like an interesting hire, but Monte and Lane hired him so he must be good. . .

When did Willie Mack come into the picture? Did he just interview at the Convention or did he "know" somebody. That doesn't seem likely considering how CLK has done everything else so far.

Recently. He played at Texas, and was a GA there back in the 90's. He then was at Western Michigan, then to TCU, and would have kept going to bigger schools and better jobs but because of the DUI no big name would hire him after that and rightfully so. From what I've read and hear though he has cleaned his life up, and I think everyone deserves a second chance. He has strong ties to the Texas area, and an extensive playing and coaching career with DB's.

I am truly convinced he would have been very successful the first time around before the alcohol incident...and I believe he will be now.

Check out this amazingly funny quote from Dan Mullen concerning Frank Wilson.

"Having a guy like Frank Wilson onboard - who is one of the great recruiters in the United States and he is probably the best in all of college football - getting him onbard and having him recruiting down south along the coast, all of the way from Baton Rouge to Tallahassee is huge. He will be down there going along I-10. If there is a player there, I expect him to be playing for us. We will have a bus and just drive down the street and have them jump on."

Unbeknownst to him...that bus will be a UT bus and will be heading to Knoxville. Man will he be pissed.
