Don't sat "we". Some of use believe his is the best QB on the team and will play very well. If you don't think so, that is your option, but some of us disagree.Due to last years performance, we don't exactly become joyful with the prospect that JG will be the starter. We are hoping that the second string q.b. will take the job. Ya know, the 2nd string guy is always the most popular guy.
Remember when we were all calling for Peterman to be the starter? Remember how we were curious as to how McBride would play if he was the starter, rather than JG? Remember how we were curious about Manning when we heard he was doing well in practice. Colquitt, Helton, Stewart.
It's kind of hard to get names right when you're plasteredCBS kept Verne and Gary way too long. Verne might be a great person, but those two were aloof and brought no excitement to the game. Verne is an excellent golf announcer but was horrible with football. He frequently called out the wrong names (remember Jalen Raybin-Meeves?). I remember watching games Verne did and he would call out players name on certain plays who hadn’t played in years. Finally, who could forget his obsessive man crush on Tim Tebow.
I am very surprised the SEC didn’t push those two coggers out the door when renewing the contract. They need a former SEC player sitting in the booth at color commentary (please Lord, anyone but David Pollak).
If there's any sport on the planet where momentum is a factor, it's college football. It's 18-22 year old kids playing in front of 100,000+ people, in some instances.Gary Danielson does not understand humanity well enough to "get" the way momentum can affect a ball game. [note for those who didn't know: Danielson has said many times on air that he does not believe in momentum in sports]
He may be bright in many other ways when it comes to the game of football, but he doesn't get people. So he can't be counted among the best analysts of this game we love.

How you handle momentum swings in a game (because it is going to swing both in your favor and against you, multiple times, in a game) is a separator between a good team and a great team.

His insistence that momentum does not exist is his most annoying quality.
It’s a VERY minor detail that requires a response, but “most outside observers” haven’t signed off on JG being our answer for the next two years...that’s you. They’ve weighed in on him being the leader in the race between he and Chryst. I’m sure you know this but you can’t stop yourself from grabbing the bit and dragging all the schoolchildren off the cliff. Most outside observers have said this. We are in good hands the next couple years at qb. Now we need to get some WRs to catch the ball.
Disastrous! I remember opining for Casey that off-season. It was unheard of for a true freshman to have the starting spot locked up before the season started, but I advocated him as “special” on the old GV forums. If he doesn’t get that “tired shoulder” (which I feel he never fully recovered from) he had it sewn up. I had no idea that Matthews was so flimsy tho. He’d usually shown well backing up Tee.Joey Matthews was the starting QB in the 2000 season opener against Southern Mississippi
When have we heard that kc is doing so well in practice? Maybe, just maybe, jg has taken huge steps over the offseason and he’s the best option at qb for this teamDue to last years performance, we don't exactly become joyful with the prospect that JG will be the starter. I hated Verne since the LSU-Tennessee SECCG in 2007 when he said during the broadcast that he wished Georgia was playing in the game instead of Tennessee.
