Games we can’t lose next season

With the latest additions from the portal, I strongly believe we will be a much stronger next year than we were in 2025. Our biggest unsolved areas are stability at QB and maybe an additional RB. I believe both will be addressed in the portal. If not Gmac will need to show he can read defenses and stay healthy. We will be OK at RB but like a little more depth.

Would be really hard not to be. Glad he got Knowles in here as that was a must, so I'm inclined to give next season as a grace period to get that defense reset. Had he not hired Knowles and went into next year with Banks and gone 4-8, which would have been a real possibility with how this xfer portal started out for us, that's was going to earn him a pink slip. I don't want a maniac, but I want a guy on the sideline whose competitive fire burns white hot and will fire, hire, change schemes, chew the refs and literally everything else imaginable to succeed.

If we aren’t winning 10 games, then I don’t care whether we win 9 or 5.. As long as I get to watch all men wearing the Power T play their tails off until the final whistle, I’ll be happy to pull for the Vols.

If we lose to Golesh and Auburn i think the heat really starts to rachet up on Heupel and the Ga. Tech in Atlanta in week 2 will be a very tricky game breaking in a new QB. 2026 season is gonna be very interesting it’s really a crossroads season for Heupel going into his 6th year here. Let’s hope Knowles can be homerun hire we are hoping for to turn the defense around ahd we get some more portal help. I’m a believer in GMAC at QB.

I think Knowles was an excellent hire. Definitely need to beat Georgia Tech and Auburn! The Yellow Jackets lost their top two quarterbacks and Auburn isn’t very good, so that is not a game we can lose.

I’m still pretty mad that we don’t play the Puppies next season. We would likely beat Georgia and end their stupid winning streak. Ugh. Definitely think we will beat Bama since it’s in Knoxville.
