1. What have you all found is the cheapest and/or most convenient way to get single game football tickets?
The only way to get cheap tickets is to be willing to miss out - what I mean is, you have to have the ability to say no. But I imagine you mean actual Tennessee game tickets. Well, your best bet is to watch the folks around here on the Ticket forum who occasionally have an extra they want to go to a fan rather than scalp for maximum value, (which is admirable and I praise them for helping fellow Vols). That is VERY hit and miss though and not a reliable system. You can use the reseller market; be willing to settle for upper deck pairs, or in other words, be willing to trade sight distance for savings. Prices increase significantly as you move to the lower bowl. Barring all that, loitering with the scalpers on the Strip and Neyland Drive and seeing what you can haggle out of them is the next best way. They will try to talk you into bad seats, as scalpers always do, so no matter what bring a map for that stuff. All the XX, YY, ZZ section labeling can be super confusing.
2. Is it customary to sit in your exact bleacher seat or do you usually just sit in the general area of your seats. You're more or less in your seat. Never seen people sit "near" their seats. Always had my butt firmly on my own digits. If you're stuck next to a Big Orange Hoss, well ... uh ... sorry. Hope they showered.
3. Do most fans stay the whole game? Depends on the opponent and the score, but if Tennessee's having a good season you'll get a lot of folk staying to the end. People are hungry around here and it's been a long time since Tennessee was sniffing a 10 win season. If it's a good year, the fans are going to stay and soak it in. Now, if an OOC game against someone like Georgia Southern, one of those 41-7 Vandy games, or a game with lots of rain, people are gonna head for the exits at the end of the third quarter. Traffic out of Neyland isn't the worst but it is also not the best. If you stay, learn where to park and learn where NOT to park before coming to the game, as knowing that can save you a lot of time when leaving. That's its own essay though so ask when it's time to learn where to park.
4. What is the best food at Neyland Stadium?
Nothing. Nothing is that good. If you get hungry, get a hot dog I guess, that's safe enough, but nothing is that great. It's not awful either, but it is more or less generic concessions food. Some folks will tell you Petros, but I feel like Petros hasn't been good in a long, long time. If you do decide to eat Petros, just realize you are straight up flipping a coin to decide if you'll have indigestion later - possibly before you leave the game. So in closing, don't buy Petros lightly.
5. Is there any pre-game event/tradition that I should check out?[/QUOTE]
Vol Walk, and the Pride of the Southland marching to the stadium - the approximate times for each are shared by the UT Athletic Department and can normally be found in gameday press information released the week of each game. If you've never done the full pregame, the Pride will do a full pregame band routine starting 10 minutes before kickoff. Getting there in time for that is worth it. Folks seem to be dialed in to doing the "checker Neyland" thing once a year, and that is a pretty cool thing to see in person so if you're deciding which game to go to, consider the Checker Neyland game. There's also the Vol Navy if it's a mid-day or late day game, but much like "where to park," the Vol Navy is its own essay. People love to say that whole "just bring a plate and you'll eat all day" thing. That's always felt a little exaggerated but eh, it can be a good time.
