Ahhh, it's almost here so I figure it's time to share tailgating favorites. Here is one I found on another site that sounds pretty good:

Tornado Dip
4 lbs-Velveeta
2 lbs-Hamburger(browned)
1 lb-Popcorn Shrimp
5 Tablsespoons-Franks Redhot
One medium size bottle of Pace Picante
2 cans of Cream of Mushroom
2 cans of Diced Mushrooms
2 Garlic Cloves(chopped) or Minced Garlic
4 cups of Sour Cream
Garlic Powder

Put on low for about 2 hours, stir occasionally
Makes 2 crock pots

That's a hefty take on an old favorite of mine:

Block of Velveeta
1lb browned ground beef
2 cans Rotel

Best when you do it slow in the microwave, but if you will keep stirring it up, it's fine on low/med heat on the stove.

My mom does something similar as well. She calls it Monkey Meat. Instead of hamburger and shrimp, she uses sausage. I'm not sure what else, though.

I get a couple of pork tenderloins from costco. marinade it for 48 hours in soy sauce, garlic, and dijon mustard (sometimes I add a little honey). I grill that off. Cut it thin. Cut some rolls. Create a nice pork sandwich with some cheese, sliced pork, and a ponzu and coconut milk sauce (half ponzu/cocunut milk). It's fantastic.

Sounds good, but I'm not sure you would see that at too many SEC/ACC games.

if it's pork, it better be on a spit.......

as for me......the only recipie i really need is the following:

glass
ice
1 oz jigger
jack daniels/maker's mark
mixer of choice..generally for me coke or diet coke. and if it's bama week......just add a little water.

I have a similar rosemary pork tenderloin that I do. Instead of the mustard, I use orange juice, rosemary and soy sauce. I then reduce the marinade and make it into a glaze.

I have recently moved away from complicated gameday recipes, and prefer something like brats or burgers that can be cooked in a hurry consumed before kickoff. The only thing that I can enjoy during a game is alcohol. Everything else is just a distraction.

yeah 90% of the time I tailgate, i get raw Top Dogs (great sausage and hot dog place in downtown berkeley if anyone is going out) and grill those. I save the pork tenderloin for when i'm showing the game at home.

A simple thing that I enjoy is a hillshire farm sausage on the grill with a little cajun seasoning added. It is very easy, and it is guest favorite.

we're not exactly talking about wine and tofu here.

That just sounds like something you would make if your watching your team at home. Typically I see burgers, dogs and tons of BBQ. And even more alcohol.

Easy aweome salsa
1 big can (28 oz?) petite diced tomatoes
2 cans Rotel
half cup chopped onion
tablespoon cilantro
tablespoon black pepper
tablespoon crushed red pepper
tablespoon Lawry's
1 lime

Drain liquid from 'maters and rotel. Add other ingrediants except lime. Zest the lime. If you don't know how, ask your wife. Then juice the lime and add the juice and zest to the mix. Put it in a bowl and combine well. Let it sit in the fridge for a while so the lime can infuse.
Seasonings can be altered as you see fit. For best flavor, use Jane's Crazy Mixed-up Salt instead of Lawry's, but good luck finding it.

For my first post, i'll contribute this and then go find the right place to introduce myself!!

1 16oz. block of cream cheese
1 can of chili

Place in bowl and pop it in the microwave, keep stirring until mixes together and is nice and warm. Dip with Frito's Scoops. It's freakin' tasty and even turns out orange in color........Your favorite pilsner will wash it down nicely.:crazy::crazy:
